A friend of mine, an 1800 trike owner, test drove one and said he turned around a went after a block because it drove like a dump truck.

I have no personal experience with one but I'm not a reverse trike guy. Well, except for the Slingshot which isn't a motorcycle trike anyway. :D

Your friend is correct.
Along with the Can Am Spyder your continuously fighting those two wheels even with power steering.

Everyone needs to take one for a test ride and make your own judgment.

Just like my trike conversion, it rides just a little rough over to wheels but it stands to reason,
there's three wheels on the pavement instead of two.

Having never ridden a reverse trike. Its not for me looks wise.
Its taken me 3 years to get used to the idea of a radiator on a motor cycle. "GoldWing"
Some of us are just traditionalists and like a trike or bike the way it was meant to be.
2 wheels must be air cooled.
3 wheels, the 2 wheels on the same horizontal plane, just belong in the back.
That's just the way its supposed to be..........................period.;)

But the way we see the world today has changed.

Speek for yourself kemosaby..... :D:D

I'm stuck in the old days still I guess. That and it's just academic now. I just spent the kids inheritance on my 2015 Roadsmith so I will definitely not be changing.... :xszpv::xszpv:

I would disagree with your friend to a point. Lots of Spyder's come out of the factory needing a laser alignment. Think of it like your car that won't track straight. You get it aligned and it drives pretty much straight. I personally don't like the factory sway bar that BRP puts on them. You can get a much beefier aftermarket one that makes all the difference in the world. In my opinion its much more of a stable ride than the a regular trike by having the two wheels up front.

The biggest thing on a Spyder is most folks who ride it for the first time have a death squeeze on the grips. The lighter the grip and you allow the bike to do its thing.

I had a 2013 RT and now have a 2015 RT. Both of them run like they are on a rail. You can remove both hands and it will track as straight as an arrow.

Granted it is a totally different experience than being on two wheels or on a conventional trike. Once you get the hang of it then you'll love it. I've know several folks who moved over from a regular trike and have learned to love it. YMMV
