My ild 74 dodge pickup,gave up the ghost the other day,transmishion started acting up two weeks ago,pulled the pan and found some metal in it.
Changed the fluid and filter hopeing for the best.
Sunday my son went to use it.No reverse no newtrual.park and forward only.
Went to a couple of transmission shops,800 dollars to rebuild it.
No way way more then the truck is worth,body is getting real bad and the front end needs work.
Went out and bought a 2004 ford ranger edge,regular cab,3.0v6,air,cruise tilt wheel,cruise,6 disc cd player,power windows.8600 dollars,I told them as part of the deal they had to take the old dodge away.They kind of looked at me like I was kidding.Told them I was not kidding,two hours later they came to get the old dodge.
We jacked the back end up with a roll around jack so we could get it turned around.
Got it turned around lowerd the jack signed the title and away they went.
Do not know wheather I got a great deal or not but it was one I am satisfied with.

I sold automobiles at one time and it is a good deal anytime the buyer, the dealer and the salesman are all satisfied.

I liken it to getting on an airplane after I've struck the best deal I can for a ticket. I don't ever want to know what the other passengers paid because I know there are some that paid far less than me and many others that paid a lot more. I am satisified however with what I paid and I prefer to keep it that way.
