In 2014 there were 484,000 new motorcycle's sold in the USA..
Of that number 271,000 were Harley Davidsons...

Sounds about right. :AllGood:

After all, our society is primarily driven by image, advertising, and the desire to conform.

McDonald's burgers and Coca Cola are prime examples.
:):clapping:

(....really can't remember the last time I had a McDonald's burger or a coke)

Wonder what percentage of the others were crotch rockets? I'll bet the large majority. I'd like to see how many total trikes were sold (all makes) . We are seeing more and more trikes here in SC. Most riding in the rear

I don't think you can get a figure on total Trikes, Most conversion trikes are registered as Motorcycles. But it would be interesting to know..

New bike sales could merely be a reflection of the easy credit that HD is willing to extend to those who may not be able to afford the ride. A more meaningful measure may be one which includes ownership time versus miles ridden.

By any chance can you quote the source for the numbers. Just curious whose info it is.

I've the mc mfg. don't release sales numbers so I'm wondering if the source is using registrations, etc. to obtain info. At least for many years the sales numbers were kept very quiet.

MOTORCYCLIST July Issue.. And if the company is a publicly traded stock Co then the sales are public knowledge...
