After several months of back orders, Michelin has finally shipped the Pilot Activ to distributors. Just got word today that I should receive the rear tire which goes on backwards on the front wheel either Saturday or Monday. :)

I also have one on order. My dealer has told me that he should have it by the second week in April. I live in Canada BTW.

I got 40k kms out of this tire and it still could go for a while longer.
I decided to change it out due to it being 3 years old and it having some cupping on it. Better safe than sorry.

I would highly recommend this tire. This tire has lasted at least 3 times the mileage of the original factory tires on my Gold Wing trike.

They release a lot in limited numbers, if you got to Motorcycle super store you can get on a WILL NOTIFY YOU LIST when they actually come in stock again, my tire build date was 4709 so there should be somemore in the pipeline, I posted their availability on TOS and got one delivered for 96$ US, enjoy the ride!!

Blue Ridge Sports in Harrisonburg, VA was able to get one. It's being installed on my trike, hopefully, this week. :)

I will be driving right by your place on the way to arrington va to have the CSC build mine, they said they will also install my tire, k&n filter, dynabeads, et al, great folks down there in Va. Let us know how the new skin feels at highway speeds!:)

Posted a question on how often the air filter should be changed on the GL 1800. Thread took a sideways slant (as many threads do) It became a rant against K&N air filters. Just menhtioning this as you say you are planning to have one installed.

i have taken the cats off the wing so it breathes much better, need air in the front to push it out the back, I picked my mileage up about 4 mpg on the wing and figure as long as she is ripped down I will have them replace the factory with the k&n,,,some say yes, some say no, ran them for over 500k on 2 wheelers never a dirt problem, for my money I THINK THEY WORK,,,,jmho how often? I believe in PM not scheduled so I TRADE OUT EVERY 10K, I DONT CLEAN THEM, I REPLACE THEM, sell the dirty one after cleaning,, malfunction is never a good thing, heading to The arctic circle for a shake down ride so a new one is in order,,should be about a 12k round trip so I will change one out when I get home

welcome aboard herbert. The links Nana provided should answer the questions. This is a great place to ask about anything.

same as factory size,130/70/18, just using a back tire which has maybe twice the meat, CSC Factory is recommending mounting it in the same direction as it would mount on the rear of the bike, I figure they maybe on the mark given their extensive experience. JWIWT

Thanks, I ordered one today. So you do not recommend reversing it?

I fully intended to do so until my installer with 15 years at CSC told me no, reversing it snake oil, he called over another install who said the same thing, both said cuping and singing would be a problem but both said I made the right choice in puting a rear on the front for wear and strenght especially since I AM headed to alaska in june. I figure these guys know the business and have no reason to lead me in the "WRONG" direction!
