How many of you wave to other motorcyclists you meet on the road? How many wave back?

When I was riding my BMW, the joke was that Harley riders don't wave because they can't let go of the handlebars in fear that something will fall off... Now I'm on a Harley, I don't get as many waves from BMW riders, but more from H-D riders. Me, I wave at everyone! :wave4:

I wave to all riders, 95% wave back. Most of the ones that don't are Full Blown Bad Ass HA wannabes and are to Cool to be friendly!:AGGHH:
It doesn't bother me one way or another what they ride, I give them THE WAVE, to me that's just part of my Southern Heritage to be friendly.

I'm too old to worry about brand names anymore, I just wave because I love what I'm doing and hope they do too.

We always give a wave or finger wiggles no matter the ride, most everyone waves back. It was the same when we were on our boat in a channel, big or small craft, everyone just enjoying what they do.

We wave at everyone if possible and it's safe. Don't care what they are on.
my wife and has a joke, if they don't wave back we say hey they aere from Tenneessee. Hardly no one waves in Tenneessee. I'm there a lot.
We just laugh about it.

I wave to all. Assuming I see them. I get in the zone sometimes and only concentrate on the clowns in my way. Maybe 80% wave back.

Harley's are about the only ones I can tell what they are from a distance but it's not a given. Too many have added batwing fairings. But I've found that no matter the brand I'm riding, it suddenly seems it's the other brand that doesn't wave. So I've gone to waving if I'm waved to and I'm not busy sight seeing or watching for idiot moves. I no longer offer a wave first. So I guess now I'm one of those that doesn't wave. Tuff!epper:

Guess I might be a biker snob, but I've been waving at other bikes for years. Doesn't really affect me one way or the other if they wave back or not.

I see a lot of HDs on the road here in Florida and if I wave, they almost always wave back.

I'm always amazed that bikers wearing their colors, HD jackets, tats and doo rags will wave at me even if I don't wave first. Biggest exceptions I notice are people on scooters, mopeds and crotch rockets tend not to wave at all. But then, they are usually young kids and I'm an old man so maybe that's a generation thing.

We wave at all other bikes/trikes/scooters if safe to do so.
Most often we get a wave back.

It's odd, but in our area, we have found that Harley riders, riding solo or in a pair, are very friendly and fun to talk to at a "stop".

But you get a bunch of them in a group, wearing colors...they won't even acknowledge you exist.

By the same token - we've found the exact to be true of the Gold Wing clubs.

Might just be an oddity in our area. Might be the "club" aura. Who knows.

We just smile, mount the Gold Wings and go on down the road feeling good that we put forth the effort.

We wave at all the bikes and most have back.
We also have a lot of people give us the "Thumbs Up" ThumbUpwhen passing them as they like the trike.

Since having the bike triked I have found that we receive fewer return waive and I feel it's due to many recognizing a trike "larger body coming at them" and figure "old folk", or "trike folk".( Que sera sera) We have always given the waive when possible and always will. Hell I waive at old ladies too... Yea just never know

I wave at every 2 & 3 wheeler, if it's safe and since I've got the TG & when I'm able to ride, I find that almost everyone waves and a lot add a thumbs up, I guess they like the TG. ThumbUp

The one thing that I don't like is 'THAT' down low wave thing, to me it's like they are too tired to pick their arm up & wave. So, being me, I raise my arm up high & wave wildly, I don't want anyone to think the TG means I'm not able to wave. If your going to wave, put a little effort in to it, not just let your arm fall off the bar & strain to get a few fingers out!!!:wave4::wave4:

When I'm riding on a road that I know is traveled by a lot of bikes and get tired of waving every few feet, I put a spring loaded antenna on the Bat wing with a glove on it so that does the waving for me... :Joker3:

great idea, after I get all my 'other' ideas done:Shrug:, I will see if I can create a system so that I can just press a button & it will wildly wave a glove on a tall wire coming up from the left side of the handle bar. :wave4::wave4::wave4:

We wave to everyone no matter what they are on or in. Most people wave back and the wave we like, it's the people out there who pass us taking pitchers and with both hands on the camera:AGGHH: and they are in the drivers seat! We love riding and meeting other rider when we are out on the road. Ride safe and have fun!

Good lord! Not another button! My TG has so many buttons on the handlebars now that it's hard to decide which one to use... Maybe a pedal on the right side floorboard. I hardly ever use that foot when riding.

Why I thought of was because many years ago a guy was selling them, [10/15 years ago]] And If I remember correctly' He rigged a wiper motor to a rod and at a press of a button it would wave..:wave4:

I go out of my way to wave at kids though. If they hear me coming they run out to the street and wave BIG. They get such a smile when you wave back at them. But I see the crotch rockets just zoom by totally ignoring future bikers. Guess they fear they'll have competition. I love waving to them on their bicycle , tricycle or just standing there. Makes my day too.

that is why I gave myself an 'out', I need to finish my ideas first and the way my body gets fighting with me it may take a long time to get anything done. I'll be happy if I can just start riding again.:wave4:

When you first see, greet or meet someone and they start off the conversation with "hey man" you can be fairly sure they are limited to begin with. Not always, but as a general rule of thumb.
