Has anyone installed (or tried to install) the SE High Capacity Oil Pan on their Trike? I am in the process of re-building my 120r Crate Motor due to a lifter that died on me and did considerable damage to the motor internals and was thinking that while I am into it, I might as well install the High Capacity Oil pan if it will fit/work/etc.

Any information/advise will be greatly appreciated.

Other than allowing your oil to run slightly cooler, is there any other advantages besides bragging rights?

Not into "bragging rights" Phu Cat!!! Just interested in a little more cooling capabilities!! Have everything else install to help the heat issue with this 120r accept this. Besides, it would be under the Trike and no one except me would know!! Don't really understand the "bragging rights" comment!

I installed the Screaming Eagle Oil Pan on my 2014 Tri-Glide. It did fit but it was very tight getting it in. I mean really tight. Once in, there is enough room that I am not concerned about contact. Not sure why H-D stated it would not fit. 1.5 more quarts is important to me. I am always look for ways to cool my oil. Tony

When these extra capacity pans came out they were all the rage, kind of like the chopper then it kind of died down. Some of the folks who installed the Baker only saw a couple degree lower temps. I always ask the questions, if it is of such a great benefit, why didn't someone come out with one a long time ago. Harley is just jumping on the Baker band waggon, if it truly helped they would come stock with it.

Thanks to all that provided input, I really appreciate and value the input. We did try it and found that it would fit, but VERY tight clearances. However, after some serious consideration, have decided against installing the unit.

Thanks again!!

I don't think the cost is justifiable.

Can you still use a trike lift? I have a J&S trike lift and wondered if the lower pan would get in the way.

No offense Gary, but I did not ask anyone to evaluate the cost!! I will be the one to justify if I decide to proceed! I think if you review my signature profile regarding the motor/accessories on my Trike, you will most likely find other items that you do not think is "justifiable"!!

Thanks for the input anyway!!
