Please Help! New Trike Question

I'm adding a bumper to my Motortrike (pick up next week) that has 10 lights on it. My stealer informed me I could have them 1) all on as running lights, 2) All on as brakes are applied, 3) have some lights on as running lights and the remainder on when brakes are applied.

Anyone have a lighted bumper? Thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Hello Chil. On my MT it was very hard to see my stock lights and many I ride with bitched about it. I added many more. I suggest the most lights you can get on when you run and brake.

Then I'd add some more.:D

Cages running behind you have little concept of the ability of our machines to stop. The sooner they pick up the brake lights the better.

running lights

I build trikes for a living and personally I would run every other light as a brake light with the 2 outside lights as a running light and Amber in color with Red being the brakes. you want maximum contrast in color you can get. I would run super bright L.E.D. lights for ultra low power draw... Just my opinion here and like BUZZ said. then add some more:cool:

Thanks Buzzard. What other lights did you end up adding?

Chil, I went to the following site and spent what I could afford. These are great folks and are more than willing to help with wiring diagrams and instructions.

Custom Dynamics Motorcycle LED Lights Motorcycle LEDs Lighting

In addition to a center run/stop LED light bar on the trunk lid, I added Peterson run/stop/turn 6" LED's on each finder. I then added another 6" run/stop up on the passenger back rest.

To top it off, I added a trick flasher for both the turn lights and the Stop lights.

It looks like I should be leading the Rainbow Troup of New Orleans :Dand I get some ribbing from my Brothers, but they, and I'm sure you, understand that Gay is a matter of perspective.:D:D:D

Let me know if I can help with anything on the Trike. I'm sure Kodiak and others here will add information also.

I like the every other or have center 4 running and 3 on each end as STOP or even vice versa.

Thanks for the tips and advice! I'll likely end up doing some mods to this setup after I bring it home, but for now, the two lights on each end of this 10-light Peterson bumper are running lights (they curve to the sides) and the 6 remaining lights in center will light when the brakes are applied.

Time to do some shopping!

Thanks again!

Chil
