did a search on the forums and found a few posts from back from 2010 but nothing recent.. I'm looking into picking up a Trike lift. I found this lift but it's rated at 1000 lbs only, looks like a good price. If I go up to the trike specific lift it adds another 4-500 to the price. Anyone using a trike lift that got a good deal on it, or would I be ok with this lift.

Saw a post awhile ago where the guys lift side bent and he almost lost the trike over the side.

I would be very hesitant in using a lift for a trike that wasn't rated for 1,500 lbs. Besides them failing and causing damage to your trike you need to be concerned for your safety and anyone else near it.

Spend the money, nothing good will come of putting a 1,200lb+ trike on a lift rated for 1,000 lbs. The picture in this screen capture speaks volumes.

The lift in that picture is a tinker toy compared to one rated for the weight you expect to put on it. The lift in this picture is rated for 1,500 lbs.

I agree with Mike...I paid the $$$ for my trike and don't need damages to it or myself ..
I purchased the Handy BOB 1500 like Mikes and have never regretted it..

I am about to build a new home for my trike and I want to get it right the first time. What is your ceiling height of your garage?

Thanks

My dads ceiling height is 8' and we have to watch not to go too high with the factory windshield or it will hit the ceiling and make bad things happen, I'd go 10' so there is ample room.

Yes, Mine comes very close with the shorter w/shield ...The taller one would definetly get sguished..

I looked into the Handy lift like Mike's but found this Titan 1500 XLTE (electric pump). This lift deck raises to at least 48", my garage ceiling is 8 1/2 or 9' and the stock 12" windshield clears the ceiling by about 6". I can also have the lift in the next to last notch with garage door open. The only thing that would hit is the stock antennas (on garage door).

I checked the Titan website but no prices are posted. Did I not find the correct location or are they a secret? Did you purchase direct or through a dealer?
thnx

my lift is rated 1,000 as i had 2 wheels for so many years, so i just retrofitted mine to my to fit my ultra with the frankenstein kit. lifts just as good as b4, tho if i had to buy a new 1 i would get the larger lift. also my lift is about 20 years old and has been used llots it has never given me a bit of problem it's a "handy table air lift" don't know if they make these for trikes now or not.

The bent lift picture I posted above is an older Handy, with your Frankenstein kit your still within the load limits of your lift, just right on the edge. The Frankenstein kit only adds 150 - 200 lbs to the weight of the bike which places you in the 900 - 950 lb range. Handy still makes air powered lifts, the BOB 1500 my dad bought uses air.

Went through a dealer, but picked it up from them (as they are less than 2 hours from me). They do have a showroom with all their lifts on display.

This lift comes with some extra stuff (removable plate with rollers for 2 wheelers). The wheel chock was extra, I think this is the case with most lifts.
