That is really sweet mug, Tell me more about your trailer wheels and the running boards on your trike, the root beer keg and the rest huh?

The wood grain effect tickles me!

Seems you should be in the running for trike of the month.

Thats for your interest in what i have put together.

I built the trailer back in 2010 and pulled it behind my 2009 ultra classic. I started with a harbour frieght trailer made my own axle for a set of harley dyna glide wagon spoke wheels. I also bought a set of sidecar hubcaps for the ends of the wheels. I use a castle nut and a cotter pin to hold them on. The keg is an old wine barrel that i got for nothing at a winery that went out of business. I refinished the outside and sealed the inside with clear caulk to make in watertight. I then made a new end and attached that to the one end of the barrel, this allowed me to make my opening for my door on the end without the barrel fallinig apart. I then made a door that covers the opening so as to again make the barrel watertight. I attached the barrel to the trailer by making some stands that are made to the contour of the barreI. I used 3/4" oak boards to make the floor of the trailer and finished them the same as the barrel. The fenders are harley softail fenders that i got at a swap meet. I had them and the trailer painted to match the bike. I choose to have the mug root beer dog painted and got permission from Pepsi to do so. I dont drink beer but i do drink lots of Mug Root Beer....... Total project around $ 1,000.00

This year as i was trikeing the harley i had the wheels hand painted to look like wagon wheels then several coats of clear coat were added to protect them. This added $300.00 to the trailer

The wheels on the trike came from preformance machine they are called Torque. I bought all three to match, as well as the front rotors. The TROG TRAX (running boards) came from Motor Trike which is the kit i had installed to the ultra. I had the same guy who painted the wheels paint the trax, he painted them to look like a hard wood floor. I have better pics but cant seem to get them to load right.

Again thanks for asking about my build

The silver things on the side of the barrel are the state quarters for the states that the MRS and i have traveled to with the 2/wheeler and trailer. Will be continuing to add with the trike and trailer. Found a few more pics that you might like. Hopefully

Man i love it, you did a great job!
One of a kind.
Thanks for letting us know about it.
I nominated you for consideration of Trike of the month. The trike. trailer combo is a head turner.

I was once a wood carver and im afraid i would carry the hardwood theme even furthur!:D

Thanks for your super kind words...... Thanks for the nomination...... I enjoyed the hours of designing as well as the hours online looking and deciding what I wanted to do and buy/build. Thank god for an understanding wife. Best part is it is all paid for thanks to a ton of overtime last year.
I am planning on putting in in the Timonium Motorcycle show in February. In June will be at Americade and White Rose Thunder in York pa. July will be in Gettysburg for there bike week. Planning on going to motor trike rally in October so the barrel will get some more quarters on her this year.

I know me, I would have the same wooden theme on the whole bike if i could afford it.
Good luck!

That is a great looking Trike, but all I can think to say about your trailer & trike running boards is WOW, WOW, WOW!!!:pepper:

Thanks, Glad you like it..
I entered it in the Timonium Motorcycle Show, I was unable to attend due to a tree attacking me during the ice storm on the 5th of Feb.
A bunch of my buddies took the trike down and put it in the spot and hooked up my lights. I ended up winning 1st place in Three Wheel Full Custom Class.

WOW!! Mug, to say "Good Job" would be a ridiculous understatement! Your trike and trailer are absolutely beautiful. The attention to detail is off the hook! Wish I had that kind of talent...ThumbUp

Holly Whiskey Barrels Bat Man. Your not just an Artist your a genius. That is my favorite trike of all time. It will be in a museum on day just wait and see. They may banish you from shows so other people can win.

You should make posters and sell them online.

I hope you don't mind but the picture of your trike at the show is now the wall paper on my work laptop. Everyone I know dropped their jaw and said WOW. During the spring when your out riding post some more pictures please.
Don't let the folks at the Harley Museum see them they might offer you money than you can turn down. One of my sons went to the museum a couple of years ago. From the pictures he took it was worth the trip. I hope to make it their some time this year.
