Another riding season coming to a close

It was our first year on our Honda trike and it was awsome. We traveled to Kentucky and to the Upper Pennisula here in Mich, plus many weekend trips. We were so pleased with the ride and handling. I have bad knees and this has let us be able to continue riding, what a blessing. I am hoping that we still get a chance for a color tour ride this fall yet. If you have ever ridden thru the tunnel of trees in the fall you would always want that as a fall destination. Ride safe:Trike1:

Love the Tunnel of Trees (Michigan State Route 119), it's not to be missed. Stop at Legg's Inn for a wonderful Polish meal while in the area.

My riding season has ended. Forecasting possible some snow flurries on Friday. Not into riding in the cold if not necessary. My TG is washed, waxed, and sitting in my heated garage.

We try and do the "Tunnel of Trees" every fall. Just Beautiful !! wish I could afford to live in that area... we usually make a weekend trip there and stay in Machinac city and head back south to home the next day. Nice short trip (500 miles +) Like doing the back roads on the way there and back (52 to 127 and then west)

We are looking at 68 and sun down here in Southern Ohio on Friday and I will be out all day. I never put my CSC away for good. There are always 1 or 2 days a month to ride, even in January and February.

We're into good riding weather here. Not much riding gets done during the summer due to the heat. We'll be able to ride through December, most likely have to end that during January and February, and start up again in March through May.

Don't forget to hook up the battery tenders.

I rode again today but the season is getting shorter each day.
Going to ride to Munising in the U.P. of Mi this weekend for a color ride.
That will be it for long rides.

One reason we moved to Tennessee was a longer riding season. Just outfitted the trike with heated seats. That and some heated clothing and I expect to ride for all 12 months, at least for few days even during the Winter months.

Yep! A couple of days/month here too. I do admit that during January a light jacket is recommended!

I used to hate the advent of non-riding cold weather here in KY (the older you get, the colder you get! - and I'm 83) because that meant travelling in the van which only got 19 mpg as opposed to 35 mpg on my WingSmith.

I solved that problem - got a new Prius V which gets 42-44 mpg - about 7 more mpg than the bike!

I was happy to read your post. I'm 63 and just bought my first trike a few months ago. If my luck holds, that means I might have 20 more years of three-wheeling!

Spent six months in Deerfield Beach and visited Key West as part of a cruise. Don't know how you folks tolerate the heat and the humidity. We get the heat but not so much of the humidity. One thing - the most spectacular thunderstorms I've ever seen since Vietnam.

Nice ride through the Hocking Hills for us today, 63 and clear skies. Wintry mix in the forecast for Wednesday. Nothing like Ohio weather, it may get to 70 again in two weeks. Or it may be knee deep if you live up by Oldmsocko.

I DON'T DOUBT FOR A MOMENT THAT YOU WILL! My WingSmith was a two-wheeler before open-heart surgery a couple of years ago. Now I just plain enjoy the comfort and stability of three wheels. But I have to state that motorcycle riding greatly enhances every part of my life by keeping me alert and thinking. Actually I feel more secure on the bike with that 360 visibility and the minimal requirement of steering unlike a cage which requires constant mini-corrections. This trike will keep me away from nursing homes and dementia (I hope) for the rest of my life.

Had my last ride of the season yesterday. Insurance expires at midnight tonight. Been cold and rainy for the last 3 weeks. Thought I was done then. But yesterday we got some beautiful warm temps and sunshine for the last day. Someone was thinking of me.

I agree. The wife and I went for a 300 miler yesterday over to a nice road along the Ocoee River, through North Carolina and then to the Cherohala Skyway. The leaves were changing and not too many people on the roads. Came back refreshed, relaxed and enjoying life.

Beautiful area for riding!

Why does the riding season have to close ? I ride my trike all year long. I just put on heavier clothes and out I go.

Motogordo (Delanco, New Jersey 08075) pepper

Getting my heat gear, vest , gloves and covers for engine guards. Will be nice and toasty with them. Extends riding season for me till we get snow.
