Chat Room

CC is entering his second (or third) childhood! Anyone who was a teacher for years KNOWS all that scientific stuff already. :D

Thunder is rumbling here. Happy to be listening from a dry space.

How're you doing, Nancy? Hugs to you and Big John!

John and I have been self-installing crown molding in the LR/DR. OMG, had no idea it would be this difficult in a 15 x 35 room! Way too old for this nonsense! John said it keeps us young. Bull. I hobble on a bad ankle and he's reaching up with a bum shoulder. No wonder we just woke up! Well, I did, he's still nappin, ball game keeping him company. I'm eating French fries and Coke Zero for breakfast!

Too old for this . . . LOL!

French Fries and Coke Zero..... Does oxymoron apply (I know it actually doesn't, but it should! :))? Or do you average the calories out? LOL!

Nana, at this point in my life I pay no attention to calories! Rarely eat sweets, so I'm wearing the same jeans from Rally no.3! Nearly no fried food, except maybe burgers, don't eat out much, either. Luckily, we both like to cook!

BG, as soon as we get some colors I will send pictures. Remember this:
Getting Old Is Not For Sissies! Janice's aunt told her that when she was 90, boy she hit the nail right on the head!!!!!!
Janice and I did some carpentry work today to get the pellet stove ready for the season and we noticed a few aches and pains when we finished. Not getting any younger you know! So, you do a little, rest a little and tackle it tomorrow, because it will be there.
Dug four seedlings from our property and took them the Biddeford, Maine so a friend of my sister-in-law can plant them near her home. I guess she lost four trees and she wanted to plant trees like the ones we gave my sister-in-law a few years back. We have the mother tree and she has seedling all over our property. They are flowering Catalpa! So pretty in the spring with white flowers.
Hope everybody's day went well and safe!

Bozo, remember, a deep infection when cut out has to heal from the inside out. Not like a small cut which will heal from the outside in.
SO, hear what everybody is telling you, DON'T PUSH IT! Let the healing slowly work, and if you push it, it will get infected again!

CCrider, trees are like us, when we get old we lose our hair, so trees get old once a year at about this time and lose their leafs. If you believe that one, I have a bridge I would like to sell to you in NYC! LOL
Have you heard of fall? If not, buy a Farmer's Almanac and it will explain it in great detail, when it starts to get cold and frost hits the leafs, saps stops running and all rest of that. Nature is very funny in this way! Mother Nature loves to put on a show, in the spring and fall for all of us to enjoy!
So, let me know what you find out!
Hope your day goes well and safe.

Wondering how long that bridge is ?

Now for your homework assignment - you have to figure out how to pack & ship a few seedlings so they will "survive" while on the FedEx truck, in-route to NJ. :D

Again, you Yankees: what's a pellet stove?

N/m; I googled it. Glad we don't need one; John would be in front of it, October to April. That, the big tv, and his recliner would get him thru any winter! Luckily, we have no snow to shovel, salt to wash away, or big winter coats to wear. Have only worn lightweight jackets for the past thirty-three winters.

Answers to questions:
CCrider, the bridge I wanted to sell you, Bikerbozo already has bought, so, the George Washington bridge is still available for a very small price, like a week stay at your place in Florida! LOL
Warren, if you are really interested in the catalpas trees, how about we bring you a couple to the rally next year. I will put them in the trailer when we come, now comes the big question, do you have a way to get them home?
Bozo, if I have to, I will send my very best friend over to take care of you, you may have seen her in her white uniform in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. I am sure she will take very good care of you! LOL
BG, tell your hubby he is most welcome to come and sit by the pellet stove and watch the flat screen TV this winter. I will take care of he snow! BUT, you will need a very heavy coat if you come to visit! LOL
Hope everybody has a great Sunday. Ride safe!

Hi all! How's everyone doing today? I've been around almost daily, but a certain BLONDE told me I need to post more often so "those who care" know I'm still alive. ;)

I thought "seedlings" were little thingy's...How big are these puppies when transplanted? Won't they "wilt" (or whatever) after several days w/o a drink? Several bikers I know can't go that long w/o a drink... :D

Rosy, if I have to yank a sink out of the floor and throw it through a window to escape nurse Ratchet, I will. As it turns out, every single one of my nurses and aides on all 3 shifts are fabulous. Even if they don't get most of my jokes.
And for the record, per Cuckoos Nest, I used to be able to escape from straight jackets and handcuffs. Shoulders probably can't do jackets anymore, but give me a paperclip and I can pick the lock on any handcuffs. And not just the fuzzy kind.

Someone needs to tell that redhead they're stuck with me! I may be quiet, but I'm always around!

Hi there, did you get any pictures from the Highland Games? Did you find out if your ancestors were horse thieves or raiders or just plain folks?
Hope you had a great time and your trip went well.
Hope to see you soon.

Hi Rosy! Thanks again for lunch - wonderful to see you and Janice!!

Had a great time, good weather until Sunday, and lots of sunshine, fresh air & relaxing!! My clan's tent wasn't particularly helpful, but the seminar I attended gave me some great places to check on the Canadian ancestors. So far, I haven't found any horse thieves, but I have found a few militia scattered in with the farmers, shoemakers, mariners, and railway workers. I got a few pictures, but mostly I was just happy to enjoy the surroundings, concerts, and displays (although I still wish they'd spend 1/2 as much time on the "living history" as they do on the sheepdog exhibitions  ). Sadly, once again I didn't win the raffle for the trip to Scotland, but there's always next year! ThumbUp

I feel like an outside here after reading the last two days on here. But I'll still post on here. ThumbUp Watching a boring game of football. The weather up here is just plain NASTY. 52 degrees and still wet outside with a slight breeze ! Not a good day to do anything. Inside or outside. The buzzer on the oven woke me up from a nap ! Now back to the boring football game. Waiting for the 2nd game to come on. Wife is playing on her I Pad and Ozzie sleeping by her feet. Guess were all Bored here:vxtyaq:

Same here in rainy, chilly MA! Computer games, now off to do some reading. "Might" make supper at some point - ah, there's always leftovers in the fridge! ;)

Bozo, really sorry to hear about your infection! I know you won't take any chances, so give the nurses grief, but get well ThumbUp . We want to see you and Diane at the SnowBird Party in January!

Give the nurses grief? Are you kidding. They have the ability to make my life a living hell. They are treating me great. Have room to myself and they sneak in "ninja style"(their words, not mine) in middle of night to change my intravenous without waking me. I couldn't figure out how I always had ice water until a couple of minutes ago when I caught them replacing pitcher.
