Engine trouble in the rain

Recently bought a Valkyrie trike(98) with CSC kit. First trike, wife's idea, we're both happy with it. Had some suspension issues to work out, but that seems to be pretty well under control. Expect rake kit from Bazooka next week.
Now for the problem; we got caught out in a tstorm this afternoon, took shelter for ourselves but trike had to stay in the rain. After about 20 minutes of downpour, we suited up and started home, which was only a few miles. Cranked ok, but wanted to spit and miss all the way home. I have noticed an intermittent miss a couple of times after washing the trike. Question is does this engine have a history of not wanting to run if it gets wet? I would think not, but it's new to me. Any ideas where to start looking for a solution? Thanks.

pull your spark plug boots off the spark plugs..there are drain holes down in the bottom of the sparkplug holes..apparently you have 1 or more plugged shut..if you crawl under the bike you will see where those holes exit..a paper clip or real small drill bit will open those holes.
the holes that are plugged don't be surprised if there isn't brown tarnish built up around the sparkplug.

Also the "drool" tube.
That is the capped tube on the right side under the engine.
Its the air box drain.
It does fill with "snot" not a better word to describe it.
It too has to be drained on occasion.
Now if the air filter gets wet, which would be under normal circumstances impossible.
The bike will run as described.
Its under the tank and requires removal of the tank to inspect or replace.
So a lot of owners just ignore the air filter.
Just another thing to look at.
