Since my self imposed exile from the site (no fault of the site) I guess I do have a question on the "new" 2013 Stallions now available. My question is, maybe, a simple one.
Are there any differences or improvements that have been installed on the new Stallion production run that are different from it's previous incarnation in 2010 or so (not sure when the last "old school" Stallion rolled off of the production line)?
I understand that the only version available is the full load out version but I am more interested in the little things that were found and some of the "unique" fixes that, for the most part, the forum members came, saw and conquered things that were bothering them and came up with some fixes for them (ie: remote battery posts, updated stereo componets...I heard that even the A/C and heater ducting may have had some new modifications from the factory).
Just curious as to now that I am starting to ponder whether to get going on the Stallion "hunt", sell the Harley and get some financial things in order to enable that to happen...I would like to know if the factory has just idled it's R&D on the Stallion or if they did come up with some modifications by monitoring what has been going on with the different posts on this forum.

I appreciate any replies to this as I would really like to know.

Thanks in advance,
dennis contact BIGDOG he got a new one. I believe they are basically the same as before the temporary shutdown. still a great trike for a competitive price.

There are many "tweaks" and such on the 2013. TMS has had the engineers heavily involved with the changes made to the new model. Some of the front end components are redesigned, further improvements to the wiring, creature comforts have been improved... They have taken a very close look at the customer experience of the Stallion, and tried to incorporate the voice of the consumer in the new build.

With due respect, what have you been smoking!

One change they should make is to the armrests on the back seat. One side of mine was loose shortly after purchase and after removing them, both sides were simply glued to the plastic form and one came loose while the other was clearly close to doing the same as the material shrank.

I took them to a localish auto upholstery place and he's redone both with new material and attached them far more firmly than some glue. Staples or some similar system would be a lot better solution on this long run than just a bit of glue, especially with the small amount of material that was on them.
Overall though, I wouldn't trade this for any other trike. Goldwings and Can-Ams are very nice, but neither one gets the looks this one does.

Please help me understand what you are referring to, by your above comment.

If you go back, over all the suggestions, and comments to TMS you will see what those of us from the beginning of the Stallion have made. They fell on deaf ears, yes when someone had a mechanical problem TMS stood behind the customer.

If things were changed, like the ladder bars, there was no question about it. Or the front bearings had some issues, and TMS was right on top of it. Their customer service is second to none, but trying to get things tweaked, peaked, or changed for rider wants or needs....."forget about it"

I'm on my second Stallion, and if I wear this one out, no problem I'll buy another one in a heart beat.

Thank you for clarifying for me. I do understand that there are still things that could be done differently, all things considered, Cost effectiveness has to come into play. Also seeing as how the Stallion is a handmade trike, there are a lot of other factors that I am sure come into play for TMS.

Also from my research, there seems to be a lot if misinformation about all things Stallion lol. :p

I am not saying The Stallion is perfect, but I have seen many improvements to the new models over the fiberglass. ThumbUp

Stallion Guy the question was not Plactic improvements over Fiberglass that was back in 2008/09. The OP wanted to know was any improvements made to the 2013 over past production say the 2010 or 2011 or whenever they stopped production.

So Big Dog has a 2013 purhaps you do too, so what if any changes were made?

Seats, tires, shocks, downtubes, ladderbars, radiator, speakers, steering gear box, interior design (more comfortable), brakes,

Im sure I left something off...:wave4:

Well let's see tires are a different brand, seat is the same, shocks are the same I have heard that the setting was changed one click at the factory. Ladderbars were a fix on even the early Stallions, downtubes, steering box, radiator if you say they are a new design ok. I have not heard that from my dealer, or Jeff Vey. Speakers I don't know, took mine out replaced and added four tweeters and amp. What interior design comfort, nothing different.

Bud, all that matters is that your enjoy your ride! What it did or did not have in the earlier years doesn't matter now, it's what you have now!

I'm out of here :xszpv: ,I'll look forward to any new Stallion things you find to add to the board. ThumbUp

Thanks guys / gals for the "healthy" discussion, Since I haven't seen any pictures of the new Stallion's interior I'll have to take your word on the small changes that were made.

I take it the stereo is the same other than the speakers may have been changed...guess we won't know until someone takes the covers off and compares the two.

I was hoping that TMS would incorporate the battery post relocation in the trunk idea that would make for a lot of convenience in that area.

I also remember a few "fixes" for various switches that were made more waterproof but haven't heard that mentioned yet, I think some were throwing the idea around of having regular dual headlights up front that would function like a cars as in both being either on high or low beam as needed.

Big Dog says there are some courtesy lights now in the dash and footwells so that is a little something extra.

Anyway if anyone finds any more "factory" installed mods that were not on the two previous versions of the Stallion (fiberglass shell and whatever the new shell material was...can't think of it at the moment) please feel free to put them into this post.

Thanks again, and if anyone knows anyone who would like to buy my 2012 HD Road Glide Ultra...it is definitely in play here.

There is a lot of misinformation about the stallion going on, and I would like to clarify some of it.

The shocks ARE different... That mod came directly from Jeff Vey. A quick trip to your old Stallion would verify that. That change was done "specifically" because of the many riders (and great people on this forum) that asked for a softer ride. That change alone had to be thoroughly tested for customer satisfaction, and reliability.

the seat IS different as well... The design, manufacturer, and material is different. Another comfort feature that had a lot of time invested in making sure it was going to be well accepted. The difference is subtle in design, but the seat is better for long rides.

The armrests, and backrest is upgraded as well. All of these were upgraded due to customers voicing their opinion.

The air compressor setup is now optimized as well to help with the comfort, stability and handling.

The headlight have been upgraded, as well as the fog lights. The setup is not "dual" lowbeam like so many people wanted, but they are waterproof, and brighter now.

The entire wiring harness has been re-designed and waterproofed.

The speakers are upgraded, and they switched to a different brand.

The plastic units feature supports under the center saddle to eliminate the Cracking some stallion owners faced. there is also a step pad on the outside to help enter and exit the Stallion.

The courtesy lights have been added as BigDog stated. ....

Look I'm not trying to pick fights, I am just trying to help.

Honestly there is a marked improvement over the old Stallion, and I just want to help people make an informed buying decision. There is too much guessing going on.

No the Stallion isn't perfect, and no they didn't incorporate all of the things we wanted to see installed. But they did make vast improvements on the new design, and in my opinion "listened to the customer in making MANY of the new design changes.

The Stallion is VERY young, and The company has only had a short time to make changes based on customer opinions. I look forward to riding with you guys, and hope all of you have an awesome day!!!:10:
