Hello all - I've got a 2012 TriGlide and I'd like to switch out my pipes.

I'm not set on any brand yet- but I'd like to see what's most popular among my fellow trikers.

Thanks!!!

We have Rush Slip-ons on the '09 and Reinhardt on the '11. Both make the trike a bit louder with a deeper note, but not too loud where people don't want to ride behind you. Happy Triking.

Had the good fortune to meet a fellow rider in a Subway restaurant this afternoon. His 110"er has V&H Monster Rounds on it and those are the mufflers I was plannin on buyin. We talked for a while then he left. After hearin the deep rumble those mufflers had, those are definately the ones I'm gonna put on our trike.

If the sound isn't loud enough with those you can take the fiberglass packing off the baffle & get more. I haven't found a replacement baffle for mine, but I really like them just the way they are. I don't think V&H makes one for them. Just a repack kit.

Yours won't be as loud if you have a smaller engine, but you'll like em !

I have the supertrapp 4" stouts..Perfect sounding muffler in my book..Waiting for winter to break so I can test out the new headers and see if the Db changed any..

I have V&H Power Duals, no cats, with V&H Black Widow Muffs. Very lowww rumble..get good comments about the sound.

If your going from a cat infested stock HD head pipe to something without the cat you'll be surprised at the difference. That cat acts like a pre muffler, HD has even come out with some louder mufflers to compensate for it. One muffler HD came out with or shall I say reintroduced is the Screamin Eagle Thunder Street Performance Mufflers PN 65115-10. These mufflers were taken off the market back in late 2005 due to HD agreeing to only sell EPA legal mufflers, these mufflers used to carry PN 65115-98b and were pretty loud. They have reintroduced them and state they are 50 state legal for MY 10 and later and 09 and later California touring. If you was to install them on a 09 without the cat or any cat less head pipe it would have quite the rumble, especially once they get some miles on them and the packing burns out some.

I have Pythons on my Roadking trike, with punched out baffles. They are actually way to freakin loud-people can here me comin a mile away...which come to think of it... ain't entirely a bad idea!!:xszpv::xszpv:

I have started it in the garage but will know more after a few miles on the fuelmoto headers.. It did sound almost the same to me?? Guess I will find out soon enough..

I have Fuel Moto's Ceramic Head Pipe and their 3.5 Jackpot Dyno Tuned Mufflers. I love the sound, but to be honest I haven't had them on the road much due to winter weather.

Has any one tried to go to a muffler shop and have cherry bombs installed . I know this would be alot less money but will it work ? ON a Wing ? on a TG ? I can't see my pipes on the wing so it's a thought for me.

This is an interesting thread...no two combinations alike...It shows how many different options are available out there...

It sure would require a fair amount of work to make it work, plus I don't know how it would affect the torque range.

Installing Rush true dual header and HD-SE 4" street cannons tomorrow. :D:D:D:D:D:D

True dual and the street cannons... That'll leave a mark on your ear drums:D. I've heard the street cannon has a pretty open baffle, you can see through the muffler which means pretty loud when installed on a true dual.

Well if it's too loud then I'll have to re-group and look at another set. I didn't think they were as loud as the 4" Rienharts, but then it wouldn't be the first time I've made a mistake. :gah:

This is the HD Catalog description:

SCREAMIN’ EAGLE® StREEt CANNoN
pERfoRMANCE SLIp-oN MuffLERS
Cue the orchestra. We tuned these mufflers to provide an exhaust note with some extra deep bass. You get the rumble you want and enhance that famous Harley sound, while preserving the peace with your neighbors. The tuned baffles work with the large internal volume to strike the perfect balance required to deliver performance that you can feel in your gut. The large 4" diameter Street Cannons provide free flow of exhaust gases with just the right amount of back pres- sure for a smooth-running ride. The die-cast Screamin’ Eagle® medallion adds a rich touch to your bike’s profile, and a large selection of end cap designs are available (sold separately) to provide the perfect finishing touch.

Initially they may be pretty decent then as miles build the packing material will degrade and they will get louder.

I have the V&H Power Dualls with the Hi-Out Put mufflers. They sound awsome but can't hear the radio to well at 70-75. They will give you more power.

Bill Reber, that may not be a bad idea! If the mufflers I just ordered don't give me the sound I'm looking for, going with glass packs might just work and at way less money. Finding a way to support the back of the muffler might be tricky tho. Can't expect the joint where the glass pack meets the header pipe to support that muffler by itself. Maybe a straight pipe from the back of the muffler to the rear muffler support would do the trick.

This sounds like a fun project.
