You sometimes need to think before offering to help.

My buddy bought a late model Harley sidecar for his 99 Ultra,so I offered to help him install it.Well after the first issue with the 2-1 header not going to work he bought some used true dual exhaust system at a swap meet.Should have known its for a twin cam but a late model,so after i machined a couple custom pipe brackets and a lot of cursing we got the hack on today.

We have it set up with about 1 1/2 of toe in and about 1 degree of outward lean.Putting on a side hack is a ton of work(unbeknownst to me),that is until now.

I can honestly say I have installed two side hacks,MY FIRST AND MY LAST.I told him that he should get someone who knows how to adjust them correctly to ride it and set it.

Okay I would say I feel better now but,my back is killing me with all the bending and crawling on the ground.I'm done whining now LOL. Gonna take an Ibuprofen now.

Well, Steve, that sure sounded like an incredible undertaking to complete.

Go rest, you deserve it.ThumbUp

Do you have any pics to share by chance?

Looks great

Never had the opportunity to run one looks like fun. Running one hard or just different? Like to give one a try someday. ride safely Fred

We do a lot of things for friends and the older I get the longer it takes to recover. Oh well like the wife says "getting older is hell sometimes". Sounds like you are a good friend.

That looks like a challenging undertaking. I can see why you had trouble with non-stock exhaust. Yikes!

For what it's worth, I'm thinking you might expect more than normal clutch wear.
