Yelvington Trikes no Longer

I had the Yelvington trike site on my computer and checked it out a few weeks ago. Noticed that the site had changed and one of the things I noticed there was a few words that said there are still some trike sets available. Strange I thought best write a note to them and see what is going on. As it turns out they must be getting out of the trike business that is building trikes and in to reverse gears for Harley's and other brands of trikes.

I have a Trinity Trike set which was rebranded to Yelvington a few years ago. I must say when I bought the trike I thought I really had something. I did I had a lemon several issues the first two years. Then I got hold of a guy who specializes in trike sets. He said that the parts that Trinity used was junk. He rebuilt that back on the trike set using solid parts and now this bike is in excellent shape. Road it over 3000 miles without a issue and road it hard this past weekend. Not on issue. I love the bike now on a Burgman 650 bike.

Sorry to hear Yelvington isn't going to produce trikes any longer. Hope they do well with the reverse gear set up.

I agree! I have been to three dealer shows one in Indy and two in Ohio. All three times Yelvington has been there but very little activity around their booth. The first time in Ohio they had some guy in the booth who was seeking investors thought that was strange. I was asking him questions about the trike set and he flat out told me that he didn't know anything about the trike just gave me a book and said to call the number below. I said is there someone working with you from the company? Yeah he said but don't know where he is. I thought wow how can you sell a trike set to a prospective client and don't know anything about the product?

The second Ohio dealer show I went to there was another guy there and I asked him questions. He seamed like he wasn't interested and at that point I told my buddy this company is going in the tank soon. Soon it was now they are out of the trike business and into reverse gears. I'm willing to bet to give it two years max and they will be out of business period.

I also knew things were up as when I bought my trike back in 2013 and had issues I would call down to Florida and the place was only open from 10 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. What kind of manufacturing place opens for four hours. One that doesn't produce many trikes. I would call and rarely could I get hold of anyone. The women who would answer the phone was clueless, told me that everyone was in a meeting. Would even email personnel down there and maybe I would get a reply.

I did get hold of Richard Yelvington and he was helpful but the rest of them were not on the same page.

I hope Motor Trike does well and I hear Danson is doing very well. They have many dealerships now just that their trike set is three wheels on the back and one needs to put a car tire on the drive wheel as a scooter tire or motorcycle tire will not hold up.
