I have a 93 GW 1500 with 87k mile run good had no trouble out it would spend 10 plus $to have it trike or would get a later newer bike

You are the only one that can answer that question . If u can find one as nice as yours for less than the price of the trike conversion + what you feel you can sell yours for maybe . You will have to go to a 2002 or newer. If you are a tall man than the 1500 is roomier. It would not be a waste of money to do it. I don't think it is a foolish move

Second what John said. A 93 1500 2 wheller will bring only a certain amount. You know what you have and you are always taking a chance buying someone elses machine no matter what they say. Also like John said try sitting on a 1800 there is a diffent difference in room.

Also you might want to check out in the For sale section the Valkrie that's forsale absolutely gorgious.

That would depend if you are going to keep it until it gives up. If the answer is no then it would not be a good investment. The bike is 18 years old so its net worth is not much. Trike kit is an option you may recover the amount but that will be about it. If you like the bike and it is sound and you don't plan on selling it no problem. You will lose if you sell it.JMO

I'll give you the same advise I give potential Trinity Trike customers (and since we don't do Goldwings, I have no vested interest or hidden agenda).

To those with "old" bikes or high mileage bikes I ask them, "Does this donor ride have a special meaning or a strong emotional value to you?"

For example, was it your first bike; or did you buy it new; or have you spent thousands of dollars or invested hundreds of hours to get it the way you want it?

If not, then I'd recommend against dropping what is likely to be several times the current retail value of the donor into making it a trike. Especially in the case of a Wing, since there are many fine examples of trikes available in the pre-owned marketplace.

And yet, the first two examples of our new Trinity Trike mid-range shaft drive conversions are good examples of going against the idea that newer is the only choice. Even I myself am going against the grain in the selection of my personal mount, a 1982 GL500i Silver Wing. It is the fullly dressed, transverse VTwin -- not the super scooters that bear the same name today (what was Honda thinking anyway, using the same name for two entirely different classes of bikes??). Check it out for yourself: Trinity Shaft Drives

The choices for these two bikes were both strictly emotional. John has had his early 80's GS450A since it was new and only has about 3000 miles to date. I fell in love with the GL500 Interstates and simply had to have one for my own. I like the technology it has, the way it looks with the early Vetter type fairing and I'm fitting it with a extra comfy king & queen seat I just bought via eBay. I know that with the light weight Trinity rear end, those 500cc's will be more than enough for me and the wife for many, many miles to come. I look forward to keeping this one loooong term and in fact, I expect I'll have it right up until I take my "last ride" to the VA nursing home!!

This ain't the stock market, so "return on investment" isn't why we are here. So do what feels right for you!! Sage advice from a guy who's cage is a fully customized, 37 year old VW Thing!! ( Thinga'Ma'Bob ) :pepper:

PEARL was Triked at 52,000 (MOTORTRIKE)I have never regreted it.However if you are questioning the decision it mite be better to find one with less miles. They are some good ones our there.Good luck whatever you decide.RIDE SAFE

Hi,Carter-
At any time, if you'd like to take my 03-1800-champion for a day we would have no trouble with that..let me know if you'd be interested..107,000 miles and is still
running a bear..Looking forward to seeing you in the valley..........Tommy

There are things a lot of folks like about the GL1500 better than the GL1800s like more leg room, lower cost, bulletproof EVERYTHING, etc, etc. Do what you feel is the best for you and dont worry about the miles..

Thanks to everyone for their response to my post about my 1500 goldwing. You have helped make the decision to keep Old Gladys. She does what I want her to do and rides good and I guess I'll keep her til she wears out. every now and then i guess everybody just gets the urge to update.

Your 1500 has at least another 100 to 150K left on the clock? Your question should be How many more years do I have left to ride? then figure out if you want a newer trike or not.

We have a 2000 Vaulkryie 1500 and put a DFT Smoothie on it with an 8 degree rake. Its awesome. If you have a Honda keep it...........we have over 72,000 on ours
