Took a ride to Woodstock. Remember 46 years ago.

No audio. There was a bad buzz in the audio. Checking on where it came from. Looking through my F4. Much clearer on DVD. U Tube really degraded it .

If your thinking of the 1969 Music Festival..[aka Woodstock] That happen at Max Yasgur's Farm in Bethel NY, Just out side of White Lake NY..
No ware near the town of Woodstock..

Correct the town of Woodstock is capitalising on the name. They sell posters and T shirts. The town is full of hippies and tie dye. You fell like you are back in the 60 's .

For the last several years I have been trying to collect all the music that was performed at the original Woodstock. Hard to do, as some of the artists didn't record the music they performed there.

A friend and I heard about the festival on the TV news, so being young and dumb we started out hitch-hiking to New York. Had about $50 between us, and no idea how long it would the trip would take or how much money we would need. $50 seemed like a whole lot of money in 1969 to a couple of 13 year old kids. I had a small army surplus backpack with a few sandwiches, toothbrush and a change of clothes. My buddy Paul actually did the stereotypical hobo thing and had an extra shirt, socks and a change of underwear wrapped in a bandanna on the end of a stick. It took us all day to travel from Farmington, MN to La Crosse WI, a whole 135 miles where we stopped to see Paul's cousin. Parents were called on us, and that was the end of the trip. We didn't really get in trouble, but little reminders came our way for the next few years.

I think the band at Woodstock that surprises folks the most is Sha Na Na. Most folks think of the rockers like Hendrix and Country Joe and the Fish, or folkies like Joan Baez, Arlo Guthrie or even Ravi Shakar, not a 50's style band that later had a cheesy (my own opinion) TV show.

I was there! What a great time, but the mud made things a real mess. I went with a few of my friends. We rented a small U-Haul truck to go up there, lol. That truck got stuck in the mud twice. Everyone was sharing everything,,,, and I mean EVERY THING!!! hahahaha :D

I had just got out of the service. Being 2 years without contact with music. A few guys said lets go up. Only 65 or so miles not a really big deal. We never left. I regret not going. I was 22 at the time. Really now thinking back glad I didn't, it was a mess. Don't forget Janice J and Jimmy H. A lot of great Music. Soo did anyone watch the Bike video. That was the whole point of this Thread. Beautiful roads.

Yep, I did watch the video, Loved it.. ThumbUp The reason I mentioned Yasgurs Farm is that I have a Hunting Club [1300Ac.] 5 miles from there, So I was looking for familiar sites, And It confused me.. But then I confuse easy..:xzqxz:

Went to Bethel Woods two years ago to check out the museum. Nice place to visit, the museum has more to do with the 60's than Woodstock itself but downstairs they had a display of Janis Joplin's personal things and letters and music she wrote.

There is a monument overlooking the original site of where the stages had been with a description of the layout.

John, that whole area could be a nice place for a TT rally in the next few years, we were close to there the weekend of the 4th and rode through Windham, Hunter and that area back to Catskill.

We can check out the area for sleeping quarters, eating places and then bring it up as a possible TT NE Rally spot. I shortened the video to 11 min. There was 1:00 hr of beautiful twisty roads. I had to drive slow. I had ( look in my mirror ) 2 ,2 wheel Harley D ridding double following me. And oh Honey was on the back too. :p
