WINTER

With winter here or almost here for many of us, how many have or will hang up your helmets until spring ?

Not me! I usually ride more in the colder months than in the hot summer. As long as the roads are clear and dry, I'll be ridin! ThumbUp

Winter time is West Texas means we get to ride all day without cooking!! I too ride all winter depending on road conditions. A couple layers and I'm good to very cold temps.... :AGGHH: :AGGHH:

Mike rides all winter if the roads are dry and clear, but I feel the cold too much to enjoy it, so mine will soon be tucked away under her blanket until spring :)

We are going to try for one last ride Sunday thru the rooling hills of WVA. Then it's in the garage for a trans and motor update for spring!

We keep riding until the salt hits the street and then she sleeps until spring.

My motto: "Rain or shine, sleet or snow, me and my GW trike are on the go." I use gear to compliment riding conditions for my daily commute and weekend pleasure riding w/ my wife of 42 years!

I ride all winter, There's just so many riding years left in my calender, So i can't see parking the Trike every winter. That's the main reason i bought a Trike, Nothing is so sad as a Motorcycle covered up and sitting for months.

We ride all winter too..If the road is clear and it is above 28 degrees, I am on it. Has to be above 40 for Babe On Back to join me. Several clubs here do Polar Bear Runs all winter that anyone can join in on.

The trike went up to HD last week for storage.:( Starting to get cold around here and we have had snow a couple times (but it did melt). Today is 27 deg. right now and they are forecasting a winter storm for us starting tonight. Our area is 3 to 6 inches but parts of northern ND could get up to 15 inches. I had adominal hernia surgery yesterday so I couldn't ride if I wanted to and the weather was good. Now I can look at the HD wish book or J & P Cycles and see what I can use or need for next spring.:D

Mine are parked for a long winters nap, they dump salt by the ton and brine by the gallons in my neck of the woods. I'm not interested in seeing what happens when it gets into the frame tubes and rust from the inside out.

If they did the same in my area, as much as I love riding in the winter, I wouldn't take my trike out either,,,.

I agree with Rhino2 100% I ride every Sunday in the Chicago area if the roads are clear. Each December I hose down the trike with S100 Corrosion Protectant for the salt.

Of course with a trike I don't need to wait for the roads to clear. :D

Your fun with hernia's has just started... wait till you've had 5 of them. My sig should read 8 surgeries and three procedures (more to come).

I take the wife's car if it's a big grocery shop otherwise I ride.

Yep, I'm done...for this year. Should be back out by April again next year. The roads aren't bad here yet, and it isn't really cold yet (by Canadian standards), but... insurance runs out tomorrow and it's too expensive for me to insure another 6 months, when I may not ride more than a handful of times. For those who ride year round,- Ride safe you lucky S.O.B.s.ThumbUp

If I show up somewhere in my pickup, people just assume I stole it.
Winter is the best time to ride. The cagers assume you are insane and stay clear.
Just started my ride from LI to Tucson today. Won't be home until Dec. Lots of layers. Wearing only leather from cows that don't shiver when it gets cold.

I just switch to my winter helmet and my Winter Goldwing

Filled the tank, put the stabilizer in, and hooked up the battery tender just today. Today in the 70's,tomorrow, low 30's.Too cold and too much salt to ride here in the winter, at least for me.

When the wind chills drop below zero then it is time to park it. Around here that can happen anywhere from 4th Jul y to Holloween! But the icy roads make a ride tricky. So usually April before the trike rolls again.

We don't hang them up for more than a few days at a time. Here in Louisiana we can ride most of the year with a few days here and there of wet, cold weather then it will warm back up and day rides are pretty good. Sorry that some of you have to put them in hibernation for the winter. You're more than welcome to come south and ride with us.
