I've had 5 Baggers before I got this 2014 trike and all of them had the smallest wind screen on them that I could buy. Love being able to look over it instead of thru it. So my question is WHAT type of kind do you have on your HD Trike. I want to change my stock one since its so tall. Your replies will go a long way into me making my choice. Wife used to ride her own HD. But since she sold it its two up from here on out. She would complain about the last Hot rod Bagger I had . Because of the small wind screen and the wind buffing :(. Thanks for you in put G & G's........RickThumbUp

I ride a 2012 Tri Glide an use a Clearview 8 inch with recurve . Works o k . Would go to a 9 1/2 inch if a did more traveling at highway speed . Your height and seat will also need to be considered.

I have a stock 10" windscreen and I have a top hat on 80 mph and it stays on.

I have a 2015 Tri-Glide that came with a 10" clear windshield. The top of the windshield was smack dab in middle of my line of sight. So I bought a HD 12" light smoke which put the top up far enough so I could look through the windshield. Then in anticipation of getting a DK Comfort lift which would put the drivers seat up about 1", I got a HD 15" clear barn door (windshield) which put the top well out of my line of sight and worked great on the open road even with the DK lift kit installed. But because it is so tall it vibrates at speed and in sunlight it reflects the fuel door and ignition switch. Plus in the rain you have to look through a wet windshield AND a wet visor. So I decided to try a 9" Freedom recurve windshield in hopes I could see OVER the windshield and it would still provide the same wind protection of a taller see through type wind shield. I chose a 9" because that is the recommended height when I measured according to their recommendations.

I likes the gentle recurve and the fact that the Freedom is slightly thicker than stock. When I tested the 9" Freedom shield it worked fine at surface street speeds and I could see over it. But as soon as I got up to highway speed of 60 MPH I noticed buffeting on my helmet AND in the helmet. Plus the bike seemed to handle different, it was as if I was pulling a parachute. I have now gone back to the 12" HD shield, because it works, and am going to return the Freedom shield.

I first replaced my stock windshield on my 2011 TG with the Long Rider Shield Flat Top recurve at 9 inches in height. I should have gone with a 10 inch as it was a little too low. I had done the measurement as per their video on their web site but I must have errored a bit in my measurement. I later replaced it with the HD windsplitter in the tallest size it comes in which I believe it is 11 inches. As I said I got the tallest one and it really could have been another inch higher. Both of them I am referring to the fact they are below my nose a bit so I am looking over them with no problem and really not getting much wind buffeting. The wife did get some. A friend of mine tried the demo of the HD windsplitter on his 2012 Ultra and liked it but his wife said she was getting too much wind buffeting. They tried the Klockwerks Flare (I think that is what is it called) and he liked it but thought the windsplitter was a little better for him but his wife said she doesn't get any wind buffet with the Klockwerks so that is what they stayed with. I'm thinking of going with the Klockwerks next spring.

I have the National Cycle V-Stream (ultra Low) on my 2013 TriGlide and love it. The top of the windshield comes to the tip of my nose and I am 5'- 11" and have the Road Zeppelin H-D seat. I get absolutely no buffeting, and the wife has never complained about buffeting. Look up the National Cycle website and review what they have to offer.

Good luck with whichever windshield you decide on!!

I use the LRS (Long Ride Shield) recurve 9 in. I took it off my 2014 Ultra Limited.
Seem to work fine and the price is great, as he has sales at different
times. Might be one on now. Check his site.

Just a note - I'd be real sure that the Handlebars and seating are where you plan on staying. Changing any or both will change your position, especially if you put a driver Backrest on. I've never used one before the TriGlide, and love the hell out of it. But it does put you more upright. Just my opinion....

Cut It?

Why not save some money & just cut it down? I used a dremel and masking tape on my sidecar wind screen and it worked our great. You can make the cut with any curve you want, just pencil the cut line on the tape first, then sand down the cut with some sandpaper. Hobbs

I'm 5'-11" tall and have the stock saddle on my trike. I have the Klockworks re-curve 8.5 dark smoke. I can see over the top with the wind and bugs just touching the top of my helmet. At speed if I put the heel of my hand on top of the windshield the air just hit my fingertips. The only buffeting I seem to get is from air hitting the tank.
Out here in the West there always seems to be wind. I ride in the protection of the fairing and windshield but, passengers get hit hard by side winds.

I'd like to Thank all of you for helping me with this. I think??? I got it down to 2 of them now. I'll make up mind in a few mins and order one. THANK you guys so much with your thoughts and picsThumbUp........Rick:D

I just started to use a 9" flat top from LRS wife loves not having wind grab her helmet when she is gawking around. best windshield I have yet. 9" ULTRA before that was great but not as good as flat top. I'm 5'8" OEM seat. ride safely fearless

Morning: Well took a couple of rides over the weekend and LOVIN that shorty windscreen. At only 5 inches it's 2 inches then the one I had on my Street Glide. Even at 75 mph down the freeway yesterday afternoon on our way to Phoenix it felt GREAT ThumbUp. Plus it looks so cool. :D
