They finally unveil Shatner's Rivet "Land Jet" trike. It's a very strange looking bird, but it really does exist and it runs and the 84 year old Shatner is going to drive it from Chicago to Los Angeles over an eight day road-trip. I hope he doesn't die. See the video below.

Wow. Sorry, suddenly I'm at a loss of words. I have to admit I've been a long time fan of Shatner and I love a good trike but ... I just don't know what to say yet. Guess I'll wait to see if he (and the trike for that matter) makes it the entire eight days.

Well, good for him at 84 yrs old. But ya know, he's no Capt. Kirk any more. Trek on Ol' Man, enjoy your ride.

Yeah I have my doubts too. The controls on this thing look like an accident waiting to happen, not very user friendly. I seriously hope he doesn't get himself killed pulling this stunt.

He is in KC today. He said that while it worked "perfectly" in the shop, it did not on the road. They are trying to find the problem, so it is being trucked to each location. The news shots looked like this thing was made in a cobbled together, "Back to the Future" method...

Exactly....He shoulda' let Scotty "beam it up".....:D

I bet Shatner is getting cooked sitting behind that V-8 in this kind of heat. Even with his celebrity status I don't see this hideous looking thing being a good seller do y'all? Who here would buy one?

Publicity stunt...no way he or that contraption going anywhere....get your old, spoiled, rich ass back in your limo bus!

I would like to test run that rig out on a drag strip with nobody else in the adjacent lane.:D

Not a candidate, and I'll test ride "most anything with wheels"......

I hear hes riding a HD trike because they have steering issues with the Rivet. He was in Kansas last I read.

If you dropped the clutch, I doubt it would go ten feet.

Take a look at the 25"+ diameter rear wheels with 5 small wheel studs arranged in a 5" diameter circle.

:Agree:

That is exactly my point.

There is no telling what direction that rig or flying parts may be headed in the first few feet.
