Why mount the MPA backwards??

Hi folks!

My (new to me) 2005 GL1800/Hannigan is on the truck heading from NJ to my home in California as I write this. :woohoo:

The first two things I've bought for it (and have waiting here for it's arrival) are a belly pan, and an MPA 130/70-18 rear tire to mount up front.

I've read a lot of good things about the MPA on this forum, and it was the reviews of the posters here that convinced me to give it a try.
But for the life of me I can't seem to find the reasons people mount them backwards, in the posts that I've searched/read.

Can somebody please enlighten me as to the advantages/disadvantages to mounting it backwards?

Thanks, and best regards,

Gary

Gary, there was an article posted (post #13 at the link below) that had some explanation of this. Maybe it will help you: http://www.triketalk.com/forum/gener...res-front.html
