Why is my CSC GL1800 Preload Adjustment Light Flashing?

I just had new tires put on my 2018 GL1800 CSC trike. Today I tried to move the preload adjustment from single rider, to two riders since my wife was riding with me. Any preload adjustment other than the single rider results in the selection flashing. I stopped several times and tried to get it to stop flashing and the only way to do that was to go back to the single rider selection. I am under the understanding that a CSC Trike uses the standard preload adjustment. The trike ran and handled great. This does not seem normal however. Anybody have any ideas?

I spoke to Will at CSC. He suspects that it is a sensor that has gone bad. He has heard that Honda's solution is to replace the entire mechanism related to the sensor at a cost of roughly $1100. Will told me how to check and see if the shock is actually working (and the sensor is not passing that on to the console). Have not tried to listen for that. I asked him if I should worry about it and he said unless I have an extremely heavy load in the trike and in a trailer I am pulling, that I am fine with just using the single rider setting. I am going with that. Anybody else run into this?

I honestly haven't heard of anyone else having your preload problem. Hopefully someone with some knowledge will be along soon.

I know many years ago, I had an issue with the preload on my 07, I know, it's a different setup. But mine showed up after I had my trike conversion done. Part of the process to get rake kit installed involved pulling the gauges and display. There are 3 connectors on the back that needed to be fully seated when gauges reinstalled. One wasn't and was causing the malfunction. I had tried all the troubleshooting in the manual and no luck. By accident, I discovered the loose connector. Once it was fully seated, my preload problem went away.

Hopefully it will be something simple like that on yours. I do know that the canbus systems on the 18+ models are rather finicky about additional accessories being added. Any chance you added something extra?
