I dont know how many of you all have given thought to putting white wall tires on the rear ( & front) of your trike.

Awhile back i started looking for some to put on my Lehman trike and as you know we are more limited in tire selection due to " there isnt the space under the wheel well of a trike that there is on a car"

There is a tire "Vee tire" that is a WW that will fit the front of the wing but the white wall bleeds over and within weeks its more brown than white.. Yes i got one and preak first hand.

Anyway. I ran across a place that really does one heck of a job on creating you a tire that you want. They not only do WhiteWall but also do Red-Yellow- or other color of thin color of band(s) where the WW would be.
Then did 2 rear tires for me and 1 for the front. MAN does it add that POP to the overall looks of the trike.

Diamond Back Classic Radial Tires

YES the tires did cost more than off the shelf plain jane blackwall but since there was / is absolutely NO stock off the shelf WW tires of the size of the tire that fit my trike & i wanted white walls back there then the small price difference is well worth what they do.

This was before i put the front tire on.

So, are they willing to put a whitewall on the front tire?

Yes they do a WW for the front tire as well.

They did a Metzler whitewall for my front. I asked Tad Chapman why he suggested an metzler and he said " the trike doesnt lean and as such all of your wear is on the center of he tire and the Metzler has a harden / longer wearing center".

DB tire soes a fantastic job .

I suppose that when it comes tire tome for me I now know where to get them!!!!!

You have a picture of the front tire side and front.

I know that i do but its just a matter of finding it...I had Back tires done about 8 months ago and after much searching for a off the shelf ww front tire which just doesnt seem to exist i called DB tires about comething and found that they DO BC tires as well SOOO i had them do a front to match the back that they had done for the trike.
We had just put on the front tire and less than a month later Our Ol Yeller trike was involved in a collision with a 200 lb wild hog and took a really bad hit Just before Easter..

I will check to see if i have any pics of the trike one it had all the ww tires on it... Befor ethe wreck of course.

I thought of that too when I replaced my rear tires.. Only thing you compromise you tire selection. I went with the Goodyear gas saver tire ( gained 2 MPG) and the front tire , is that a rear tire of Bias ply or a radial?

My tires were Radials...."245-50R16" As you well know we have a whole lot less of a tire selecton for the rear of our trikes due to there just not being any wiggle room ( extra empty space)back there. Not only do we have to be concerned about the width so that it doesnt rub the fender nor get too close to whatever is up inside / around the axle but also the height so that when we hit a bump it doesnt end up eating up the fender. So as a GENERAL rule we are pretty well stuck with whatever size comes with the kit & few ( if any kits) offer a whitewall. But i think that is partially because of the lack of any whitewall tires avail for the front of the Wing.

There are a couple of sites that let you compare diff size tires so that you have a better idea as to what the real didd is . width- height and all the other measurements to include whatever MPH diff there might be..@ my trike MPH speedo always read about 5-7% faster than the GPS said it was..
