First it was the CB not being standard on the TG's now they're telling me the Boom amplifier/speaker upgrade kit will not fit on the TG - just the Limited and Ultra. What gives?? What's so different about the TG??
P&A catalog says the 6.5" speakers fit the TG, but not the amp.

I'm thinking I was so stupid buying the 2014 TG now. No CD player, no CB and now no amp.

GARYD,

I suspect the description for the BOOM Amp (Fairing Mounted) is not correct. Yeah I know, what a shocker! It looks very similar to the unit I had under the tourpak of my two previous CVOs. Plus it specifically states it was designed to be weatherproof. If it was under the fairing that would not be a concern. So, that would explain why it does not fit the Tri-Glide.

I've done a number of audio upgrades on my previous 2 wheelers.

I have not removed the fairing on my 2014 so I have no feel for how much room is available for another amp. I'm fairly pleased with the sound of the stock stereo but gotta admit I love to tinker in this area.

I also installed the Hogtunes Big Ultra to my 2012 TG. I only went with the H-D Boom kit because Pez doesn't have anything for the '14's yet.

The parts manager at my dealer told me the real reason you can't install the amp on the '14 Tg.

Because the CB unit sits where the amp would go - above the radio. And you can't put it under the tour-pac because there's no room.

Way to go Harley - really thinking ahead - what a bunch of f%$#@ing morons. Sorry morons for insulting you by calling the H-D designers morons.

At least the bigger speakers will fit and that's the main thing.

RUSHMORE = RUSH-to get out to the public, gets MORE irrate owners

Hopefully someone will come up with a solution for adding an amp with a CB unit.

Can't wait to see what else I CAN'T put on the TG.

GARYD, Take a look at this bracket to move the XM MODULE & CB MODULE on the old Boom units to under the radio. This unit is sold, but the idea might work on the 14's also if you have any room below the radio.

Just an idea to throw out there.......

GARYD, Also the thought comes to mind to have Tglidestuff build you a couple rails to raise the tour pac.
It would cool better there also.

Stick with the old one Gary better by far

That's what I'm trying to do! ThumbUp

Sloufoot, I already contacted tglidestuff about the tour-pac spacer. Not working on one - yet.

There doesn't seem to be any extra room under the fairing - have you seen those plastic speaker enclosures??? WOW!
I remember struggling to get the HogTunes amp on the 2012 TG radio. That was a tight fit.
