Wondering about a V-Rod tho....???...

Hhhmmm...waddaya think?...

Would really rock a Road Rod! Add fairing
and tour pac and hit the freeway...!...

torbo makes anything more interesting!! I wish my trike build was a turbo-ed instead of supercharger but I can live with it:D

I've built four turbo Honda CBX's and one supercharged Yamaha V-Max. Turbos can make more power but they have a very different exhaust sound that I don't really care for. What I would like to do to our trike is install a ProCharger.

I'd think you'd have to decide what you are looking for in a trike first. Balls out straight speed - Fast but can keep most of the wheels on the ground around corners? Fairing for foul weather and many other reasons - Storage and long distance capabilities....and how about comfort? You can spend a ton of money making any combination of the above. I've always leaned towards Touring Trikes with lowers to complete the look. Now maybe a Stage 4 motor wouldn't be bad either!!!

A member here had a Hannigan V-Rod trike done in powder blue and white. Very nice looking ride. Beautiful in person - the picture doesn't do it justice. I really like the look of the V-rod as a trike. As a bike - not so much.

Hey - found a picture of it -

So picture this with the trike kit:

Between the two...I'm thinking a V-Rod would be a lot of fun. :)

You know me, always trying to help out:D. Years ago when my brother was drag racing, he made the mistake of asking me what it would take to get into the 6 second zone. At the time he was running a 34 Plymouth coupe with a injected BBC on methanol, was running mid 9's. He wanted to really step it up. By the time I was done running calculations he was into this little gem.

Nothing like 1,700 hp on a mild tune to get the old blood flowing.

Dragging.......

That's just kool...

Would luv to run the 1320 in a rail like that!

That Road Rod looks killer.....now.....about that "extra" plumbing on the right side....yowsa!....

Too bad can't get close ups of that mount for the
tour pac.

That is one bad a$$ bagger!

Gotta get back to the list....

I never drove it, just had the privilege of tuning it. When that sucker left the line it was just gone in a blink of an eye, it would go 1 second or less in the 60'. I did some calculations one time, at the 60' mark it was already going 83 mph and pulling 3.5g's. When he first started driving the car it took a little time for his eyes to get used to the launch, it would blur his vision a touch when the trans brake released and the throttle snapped open.

Yep,my turbo Funnybike on alcohol would click off 1.17 60fts,sure hard on my tailbone. A good launch would carry the front wheel to the 1,000ft mark. Definitely get your attention. Went 7.65 @ 179mph. Just took too much money to maintain.

Before switching to bikes,I raced a 225" wheelbase Mark Williams chassis'd Econorail for a couple of years. It only had a 700hp 355" sbc w/shorty glide. Raced on a 8.60 index but the car was capable of 8.40's @ 160+mph.

Sounds like a couple fun rides, I know what you mean about cost to maintain. The dragster was a 230" S&W. Ran a 540" BBC built on a tall deck Merlin pro block, ran a 8-71 setback blower which was as big as the class allowed. Me my brother and my dad had a whole lot of fun hitting the national events. The cost to run it just got stupid, get 25 passes on a set of back tires and lay down another $1,000 for a new set. Replace the connecting rods every 65 passes, was running aluminum.

GGOSHHHH DANG-IT GUY's!!!!!!

Don't Yall realize that with winter coming on that these are dangerous topics...

There I was thinking that a simple 117ci or 124 ci upgrade would get me by...NOT!!!

That ProCharger looks bad A$$

if I was to start from scratch...V-Rod with ProCharger and Roadglide faring...oh yah:D:D:D

Uuuhhhhhh......

All this go fast stuff has got me thinkin'.....dammit!

V-Rod really is a f'N drag bike...

Once this thing gets Triked, add a fairing and now
it's gonna get heavy.

With the reported weak low end grunt one might
need to ride this thing like a motocross bike.

How annoying is that gonna get in "city" type riding
with stop lights and azzholzzz on phones and reading texts?....

Is it possible to cam, gear, bore, and maybe bigger
throttle body with taller stacks the way to a screaming launch?

That's a lotta work....

Like I said, just thinking.......

I haven't had much experience with the V-Rod, I've ridden them and that's about it. I know I've seen quite a few turbo or supercharge them.
