Just a silly question, but why either??? Do you plan on drag racing other trikes?? The additional "power" you will get for the money, is it really worth it
I put 85,000 miles on a bone stock* '08 Tri-glide before I traded it for the Freewheeler, wife put 25,000 on a stock '11 before we traded it for a '14 that is also stock
If you plan on using your trike to cruise, see the sights, smell the smells do you really think you need the additional 10% increase in horsepower that will cost you a couple of grand to gain. Remember, just because someone else did it, doesn't mean everyone needs to do it. Ever heard anyone that dropped a couple of grand go on a board and say he was an idiot for spending all that money???
It is your bucks, spend It however you want
I have a 2015 HD TriGlide. Aside from X treme slip ons, the bike is a stock 103. I would like to beef this up a bit but not sure if putting on a tuner or having new cams installed should be done first, can't do both. $$$$
Also, I found a company that has a great reputation that does both, but they won't put a trike on a Dyno due to previous bad experiences. They however have done over 40,000 2 wheel Harley's. They suggest a tuner first and then cam work.
Does the fact that they won't Dyno this negate putting on a tuner? Due to their reputation I really do trust them, just want some verification from folks who have actually had this done.

I agree with Screwball. I could buy a sport bike that can do a quarter in under 10 seconds and go almost 200 mph for less that a new Triglide. The Tri isn't that kind on machine. It is a tourer and the faster you go on one, the sooner your ride is over. If you needed to lighten a heavy wallet then it would be different but I rather spend that kind of money on a nice road trip or two, or three or ... My Tri doesn't pop or bang on deceleration either.
You know what? I don't even understand how this post got put as a stand alone post. It was supposed to be my response to a guy asking about whether to do cams first or tuner first. I'm buffaloed. Oh well, continue talking amongst yourselves. Now where did that cam/tuner thread go?:xzqxz: Maybe the guy that asked the question figured out about this crazy post. I have no idea how this happened.:AGGHH:
I was also replying to a "Which should I do first"..... which disappeared and you became #1. Until I got REALLY old I had a Ducati when I wanted to go really really really fast. It went away when I got the second trike.
