View attachment 3066I have a 96SE with a 2008 Roadsmith . Under the fender is the wiring harness for the tail light.. The harness dislodged & the tire wore part way thru it In the middle of the harness is a diod or resister of some sort. mine is chewed up big time but Even roadsmith can't tell me what it is. My other question is .Do I need it? H E L P

It looks like a load resistor for LED tail lights. I would think it is needed.

Thanks ,even tho I don't use leds for now I think I'll go in search of a replacement.

IF it is a load resistor, and it looks like it, I would suggest you leave it off if you do not have leds. the resistor is just drawing current that you do not need to be drawn. if you are running regular bulbs it is not needed.
