Hey.......It's my thinking that if they had Chainsaws ,Then They would have had gas and 2 cycle oil to operate the saws.........:Shrug:.....:laugh:....

Say like if you didn't hear of or see stuff happening in real time. You'd still maybe hear a bit, but not saturated stories, just read about it when the Pony Express rider came in from St. Jo?

Before the advent of anti-kick back chains and chain brake handles there were a lot of the saws kicking back and then hitting the operator square in the forehead......

The golden rule when using a chainsaw is......When you get tired/fatigued , Stop and take a long break......Or know the fastest way to an emergency room...
