Use for keeping the rear wheels clean?

I am currently using some cleaner from the Harley dealer. It cleaned the wheels up, now I need something to keep them looking good.

I use Zepher Pro-40 cleaner/Polish twice a year and wipe down the wheels with windshield washer(no ammonia) occasionally. Don't use heavy cleaners on them they will stain. Mine are bare with no clearcoat I can't say about the newer models. Don't let them get cruddy or you will have a battle on your hands.

I have 2 sets of wheels/tires.

Winter = OEM. Don't care about the salt and crap during the winter. They were ruined the first week after I got the TG. I didn't coat the wheels - didn't realize they were unprotected. What F$#@ company sells a vehicle in the northern states with uncoated aluminum wheels = morons! So I just use them over the winter and don't give a $hit.

Summer = I have the H-D chrome Anarchy wheels. I clean them with Windex without ammonia. If really dirty, I use Turtle Wax Chrome Cleaner. Then a quick spray of ICE Spray Detailer and then I'm done. I use "303 Protectant" on the tires summer and winter, especially during storage.

With the wheels on my 11T/G... [Aluminum] I Rattle caned them black, and rattle caned over the black with clear coat....So to clean them i just hosed them and wiped them down...:clapping:...With my 17 T/G I rattle caned them with just clear coat...

I took the trike down to a local detail shop and had them coat the rear wheels with a ceramic coating. In my case they used OPTI-COAT. What brake dust and grime is left after spraying them down with the hose wipes right off. No fuss. For me it was worth the 25 bucks per wheel. Now we will see how long it lasts.

I had these on my 2016 TG, they were fantastic the rears were clean. As a note on this I just got a 2018 TG, Harley changed the rear calipers and these no longer work because they rub on the calipers so we had to take them off.

Too bad they won't fit with the H-D Anarchy wheels

Here's the answer for you , this is what I did on my 16, now my 18 and also my Vettes - ceramic coating - I used CQuartz and then in 30 days hit it with Pinnacle paste wax and then CarPro reload. I will do reload after the first 3 washes and then it's good to go - reload is a hydro repellent While there is still brake dust I can get rid of it pretty easily with that combo - PLUS - you don't need much more than a simple wash for the chrome those layers will keep it from pitting. Touch ups like on my vette exhaust etc I use White Diamond

Never a problem and I'm next to the ocean

I gave the bike a bath today. When I got to the front wheel was I P.O. The wheel is all pitted, bike has 1700 miles on it.

Going to talk to the dealer and see if he can help me. That is a shame. The bike is a 16 left over, I bought it early fall of 17.

SS Wheel Discs

Would you mind posting the manufacturers date of your Tri-Glide? Im the manufacturer of the discs and Ive been selling to others that have 18's and the discs have been fitting with no problems. I need to know the date your trike was manufactured. Send that information to rjsoriginals@yahoo.com Thank you, RJ

I also installed the mirror disc on my 2014 Triglide and love them. Yes they do keep the brake dust off the rims. They really compliment the Triglide.

Thanks Jack for posting that link. I have been going back and forth on having my wheels chromed or possibly done in black (TG is black). Now I'm thinking if I had black wheels that chrome looking disc behind them would look great, not to mention keep them cleaner.

If you can't decide between chrome and black you can do what I did. I purchased chrome wheels and had them parts of them powder coated black (a few shades darker then the harley black). At the time I thought it might not be worth the cost but every time I see them I know if was the right choice for me. (even my wife agrees) The polished aluminum just wasn't doing it for me and I was trying to polish them all the time. I also powder coated the front brake rotors. The photos aren't the best but they really look good. Ride safe, Ron
