We are planning to head from Eastern Nebraska to Utah on our Trike simply to put CO and UT on our Map. We have seen western Nebraska many times and have nothing against it. In fact, I really like far western Nebraska. But, we have never seen western Kansas. We always stay mid to eastern Kansas.

Well, it occurred to me that we COULD head southwest and travel thru Kansas on our way to Colorado. But, we have no idea what western Kansas looks like. If it looks like eastern Kansas, then I would rather stay in western Nebraska!!

If any of you have been thru the western parts of both states, what do you think?

Rode across RT36 from Decatur, IL. all the way to Denver.

Drought that year and W. Kansas was like a desert without sand. Farm house every 2-3 miles, sometimes farther. Creeks, cattle water holes all dry. Evidence of field fires every so often.

Almost ran out of gas on a Sunday morning in ???. Their gas station ran out of gas!

Did enjoying the road signs that said, 'No snowplowing between 7p and 7a'. It was 103 degrees.

Needless to say, I took interstate back home.

It's all in the ride. Liked seeing something different.
