Weekend Ride

:Coffee: :wave4:
Well I have had my Stallion for one week today! I have close to 800 miles on it, now. We took our trikes out for a spin Saturday and Sunday. I did discover the heater isn't good enough for 40 degree temps for my cold natured self. That was the temp when we pulled out on Saturday morning at 8am. We headed to Kerrville for my chiropractor then headed to Boerne to the HD dealer there to find a pouch to mount to put stuff in like gate opener and sunglasses. Then met friends at Chili's for lunch and to show off my new toy. My poor Honey Bear opened the hood to show what was underneath and forgot to look at how close I parked to the curb and now have to order touch up paint for where he scratched my nose. He is so sick over being first one to scratch my new toy. So how many of you have done that already in spite of the dealer warning you about that?

We headed out of there towards Luchenbach but they were holding some kind of jazz festival I think and charging entry fee so didn't stop. Went to Albert TX and had a cold soda before heading home. Sunday had to hang around for uncle that came to visit then headed out again with temps warmer. We headed to Luchenbach again. But that place has gotten so unfriendly towards bikes it isn't funny. We used to hang out there lots showing off our rides and looking over other bikes, years ago. We would kind of make it a rest stop and have something cold to drink through out the weekend while we were riding the Hill Country. Kind of quit going there and started going to new place (Albert TX) because so many times we try to go to Luchenbach they want to charge $20 a head for entry or they want the bikes to park out back where we can't keep an eye on them.

Albert doesn't charge and lets us park close by and they have better shade trees. Anyway upon arrival we found that Luchenbach had taken away one of the two bike parking lots and made it cage parking lot. So we were told to take our trikes to the back parking again. So we headed to Albert again. Pulled in there but nothing going on so took off again rode the smaller country roads until we headed over to Marble Falls and then took a fun twisty over to Buchanan and headed home from there. All in all I think I put 400 miles on the Stallion over the weekend.

Anyway, it was really nice being on the road and in the wind again! My thread probably boring to you guys but then again there are the snow bound riders that might have enjoyed it. Anyone else went for ride? :Dorag:

That's a great weekend ride report! Lucky you to have riding weather all year long! 40º is definitely too chilly for comfortable riding if you don't have the extra warm gear, but it sounds like temps warmed up quickly for you, and you had a great time! :D

So True! It warmed up to the 60s and stayed cloudy I think and the next day was lots warmer in the 70s I think with some sunshine. clapping

We had some crazy weather around here this week, normally in the 40's and 50's but we have seen it hit 70's this week but cloudy and rain. Wouldn't you know it is during the week when I'm working! I did get to take the stallion out around town two weekend ago for a short trip. I think the temps were in the 50's so the wife stayed at home. If it not above 60 she is not a happy camper. Short trip but had a smile on my face the whole time.

Not boring at all. Sounds like a nice ride. I wish for warm days like that. You probably don't even want to think about my temps (a hint. Knock the zero from your 40'F). Just washed the salt off today from the last 2 weeks of riding. First day above freezing since.

Sunshine, sorry it took so long to give you a big way to go ThumbUpThumbUp.
Glad you got your Stallion, we both spent the weekend riding our Stallions. I know how proud you are of your ride!

brrrrr :D no way I can ride in those temps.

HI,
Sounds like a great ride. We also went for a ride, from Las Vegas to Oatman AZ that weekend. 27 when we pulled out but warmed up to almost 60 before home. Love that Gerbing gear.
We are now planning a trip down the Baja to Cabo San Lucas Mx in April.
Ride safe all,
Terry (Las Vegas Biker)
