Video Camera has served us well...

We've recorded hundreds of hours (probably over 1,000 hours) of video over the last 5+ years with our Drift HD170 video camera.

It has been mounted to the handlebars of at least 5 different bikes/trikes. Over the years it has seen relentless sun, pouring rain, sleet & snow.

It has been shaken on the gravel roads of the Yukon, and the Haul Road up in Alaska.

Just a small sample of the videos that it's recorded can be seen at our YouTube Channel.

Last Wednesday it was working fine. This weekend it stopped working. No amount of CPR could revive it.

It is well out of warranty, and survived much abuse for a long time.

We are now looking for a new video camera to record upcoming adventures on the road.

This is a great video we took with it...if it's too long for you, skip to the 7:50 second mark, and you'll see two bears crossing the road in front of us.

We just bought a GoPro Hero silver edition. It's got a waterproof case and that's why we bought it. We put a pool in last summer and plan on using it to video while out there. Plus we are going to the beach, and thought it would be fun to be able to video while in the surf.

Depending on what you want the GoPro line sells for anywhere from $200 to $500. We bought the $400 model because we don't have a UHD TV and don't plan on having one anytime soon. Besides the one we bought records in 1080p. Can't get much clearer than that.

Below is a link to exactly what we bought...and we got screwed because it's on sale $70 cheaper than what we bought it for 16 days ago!!:xzqxz:

Can it be USB ported into the tv for viewing?
