Veterans/Retired Military

This thread goes back about 4 years, but thanks to each and everyone of you for your service. And Welcome Home!
Me, Vietnam 71-72, and retired in 2007.
 
31st combat engineers - nam. called ourselves the "dirty worst". In and out of Cambodia a month or two before Nixon announced he was sending troops in. Somebody had to make a path through the jungle and that was us.
 
Retired EMCS(SS/SW)...E-8...Navy....nuclear subs, aircraftcarrier, minesweeper, rescue/salvage with divers....22 yrs. I thank all you for your service.....fair winds and following seas....
 
Don, in 1970 I was sitting on the Island of Iwo Jima. U.S. Coast Guard Loran Station me and 34 other Guys!! oh yea we had a dog...... There were 3 of us there from the South and soon found out the Japanese could not take a joke. We took their flag down and put up the Rebel flag(was kinda bored) man did we get into some trouble. I never saw a man yell and turn as red as the Chief of the station did. We did not do that again.

A few of us Rebs ran my Rebel flag up the ft Lee, Va. Post main flag pole one night.

The Commander of the Post called our Commander and said he didn't mind the flag so much, it was all the people stopping at the main gate and saluting.

We still got in trouble, but, one we'll never forget . ..
