USS Texas

This ship and it's captain and crew saved many lives on D Day. Ignoring orders to the contrary, the captain sailed as close into shore as possible, risking floundering, to shell German gun installations that were raining fire on troops caught on the beach.
 
Definately a worthy cause.

There was a similar drive a few years ago for a ship I served on that fell short of the $$ goal, and it went to All Star Metals for $1.00 in Brownsville Tx for scrapping.

And just where did those monies go for that first funding? Could they go toward this one?:Shrug::Shrug::Shrug:

The revisionist probably want this great ship forgot about anyway and will likely get their way if another Democrat or rino becomes President.:mad:
