How many riders use the reverse motor on our trikes? I realize the newer trikes have upgraded the reverse mode, but I personally find it easy to roll it out by hand or park the bike so reverse is not needed. So not saying every time, but most of the time.

After I start the bike, if it begins to roll back, I simply let is use that force. If not, I then use the reverse.

I have running boards - so, don't try to put my feet down and start the roll process

I try not to use it but being disabled I can't help it at times. When I bought my used 2016 Freewheeler the motor was already burned out. A new reverse motor was on order and when it arrived and was installed the mechanic told me these motors can burn out fast. He said to try and park so you can get out without having to use reverse and if you do need it, try to use it for short distances if you can. He said the motor with installation is not cheap. It's been about 6 years and it still working great.

I use it when I need it . Don’t give it much thought . But don’t try and go up inclines or do two up reverse unless I have to . A tech told me that it should be engaged and go back , not pushed , let off switch roll some, push let off switch roll some. I see people do that and wonder if that adds to wear versus engage and move all the way.
I also have ESP that covers it but know they rebuild it, if it ever goes out the dealer has to send mine in and they send back ( overnight) a rebuilt one, not a new one. I haven’t had to do that but did ask. 😁

Manual warns against that. Push and hold only. I back up the same way I did on a two wheeler. With my feet. It rolls easy enough and I'm careful where and how I park.

I only use it if I have to, if I can use my legs to back it up I do. If it’s too much of an incline I use the motor. If I can and I have to park on an incline I back it up so the front of the bike is facing the incline. Ride safe all.

I use mine all the time, mostly to get out of the garage.

I use the reverse often and have never had any problems with it. The only problem a few quys have had was reverse would stop working when backing up a steep hill. This is because after many miles of operation using reverse the cable will stretch and it will not engage it all the way. This is a quick 5 minuet fix by removing the right-side cover under the seat and adjusting the cable.
