The worst part about it is that there are people out there that do walk up extremely close to the buffalo to take pictures. We had ridden thru there many times on our trike and a couple times came pretty close to a some. I've also come pretty close to some in Theodore Roosevelt National Park in ND. People don't realize how fast they are. I don't know of a single person that could outrun one.

You don't have to be faster than the buffalo. Just faster than the other fools out taking pictures!
