Unbelievable!!! HD Does it Again

+1 Same for me

Loved the japaneese joke. :D

I haven't seen many 10+ year old jap bikes out running around on the streets and definatly no 20+ year old ones.

Don't get me wrong here but I've seen Goldwings with over 150,000 miles sorta impressive !!!
ThumbUp

I have an '81 Wing with about 132,000mi on it. It's been to Alaska once, & a whole bunch around the USA all pulling a trailer probably almost 70% of it's life. Not many miles in the past 9-10 years, but still runs just fine.
But for a serious motorcycle I'll still ride my Harley's!! Never had one leave me walking yet !

That's OK, how old were they? Some Wing riders put that on in only a year or two. I still say you don't see too many 20 year olds on the road. I'm not saying they can't put on a lot of miles.

I finally got rid of my UJM's in 1988 when I had a hellovatime finding/getting parts for them and they were only 8 years old. That's when I switched to Harley. You can get just about anything for any year Harley at a Harley dealer.

OK Gary/and All, here is my story and I'am sticking to it:
I bought my 1988 Harley FLHS new in late 1987 and
currently have 269 thou. + miles on it (certified by H.D.) - the engine was re-manfactured by H.D. once and again locally 1 other time, so is still original. So I have it + my 2010 Street Glide trike with 48 thou. miles, in between I bought an '02 Electra Glide and put almost 60 thou. on it (step-son has it now).
Yes we ride here in CA and throughly ENJOY the Harley experience!
EVERYBODY ride SAFE....
:clapping:
In answer to other posts:
Have we experienced issues with Harley's - YES
Would we buy again - YES
Cost - Astronmical

They make many diff. brands you know, Have you thought about one of the Japanese bikes ? they never have any problems, esp. vibration, or a loud muffler's, etc. and their dealers will fix anything you ask, you wont have to worry about any thing :clapping::clapping:.

Me,.... I'm sticking with a Harley, never had any of the problems you mention.

Just curious, How many Harleys have you owned over the years ?

One of the "great" things about the internet is that you only hear about problems and issues with dealers. You never hear about the thousands of riders who are happy, have acceptable vibration, don't use their Triglide for drag racing, have not self combusted due to the hellish heat generated by the removed cat converters etc. Every brand forum has the same problems and issues. Bad news travels fast. Happy riders are out riding!

I love my TG. I keep telling people that this is the second time in my life that I really enjoy riding. The first time was my first bike and the second time was when I bought my TG. Every bike between them was basiclly the same experience, 2 wheels, lean, feet down, etc., but the TG is a whole new riding experience and I love it. I feel like a kid again.

Speaking of kids, I started my riding life on a tricycle
and I'm going to finish it riding a tricycle. ThumbUp :D :p
