looking at their backrest and would appreciate hearing pros & cons from u folks who have them. Am happy with stock seat and want to add this for lower back support. Have changed the bars (short arms) and that has been great and enables the use of a backrest.
Thanks for your help.

When I bought mine in Sept of '14 there were very few options for the 'Free. I put the designated back rest from Harley on the trike. It was the same one used on the Ultra and Tri-Glide. Problem is, the stock seat for the 'free is a couple of inches lower than the stock seat so the backrest stood up too high. I wanted LOWER back support. Sooooo, I removed the pad and adjuster, ground off the welds that hold the perforated adjuster and re-welded it, putting the top where the bottom used to be, then cut off the excess on the top. This put the pad right at the seat and could be adjusted up an inch or two. Should have taken pictures while I was doing this.

Not sure if the bracket or backrest mount are now modified for the 'Free seat height, if not it isn't too hard a job. If you don't have the tools, pretty near any muffler or welding shop should have the tools and shouldn't charge too much.

Good Luck!
