A few years ago I redesigned the front end on my trike.
I rebuilt my forks to except a different wheel http://3fowlers.com/front.html
the old wheel was a oddball size

I wanted to go tubeless
I could not afford a very expensive wheel so I purchased a spoked wheel that was made tubeless by filling in the center

Not having the center portion for the tire to drop down into makes it very hard to change the tire.

I am changing my tire this weekend and had cut the tire off the wheel last night.
Now that I know I have to do that its not so bad but last year I fought it for hours trying to get the tire off.

1 thing I also noticed is the tire had a lot of rubber left. The tred was down past the inspection safe point but the tire still had at least 1/2 inch of rubber left.

If I ever have the money I will someday change the wheel to a real tubeless wheel

21s are usually pretty easy. It does seem odd that it will go on but not come off. Its recessed enough for installation but not removal. I thought about sealing my front wheel. I only run between 8 & 12 lbs in it so its not my priority list.

maybe I am doing something wrong when trying to remove the tire but I find it hard as hell to get off.
Cutting it off is so much easier

I already have the tire back on and it went on without much problem
