TT NE Rally II planning

Tom,

When we get closer to the day, let me know your timing. We'll be coming Rt 20 into Palmer, so maybe we can meet up and continue on together.

Frang, I generally ride solo. Bikerbozo is coming up from Long Island, staying the night before, so I suggested he stay nearby and he can go to the meeting place with me since I know the way. You're welcome to meet us in Sturbridge and ride with us! :)

I am solo( me and Honey on the back .well as of right now , unless I can convince Maryann (Thumper ) to come back this year. you can drive down to Conn.:innocent: and drive up with us <LOL>

Hal, I believe he said he's staying at the Hampton Inn in Sturbridge. I don't know how they are for prices, but there's a Super 8 right down the street from there if that suits your needs better.

Spyder, I plan on taking a mid-day Friday ferry from Port Jeff. I am not stuck on a particular hotel, just like the included breakfast at Hamptons. There is also a nice Comfort inn in town (I think Super 8 is next to that). Mostly, I look for hotels with refrigerator for wifes medicine.
I live about 6 miles south of ferry. Not the cheapest crossing, but beats driving through NYC. And cuts 100 miles off trip for me. I used to live in Centerport. If you are out riding this Friday (Aug. 5th), I should be at Mildam softball fields down by water in Huntington (Field all the way in back).

YUK ! 101 is like taking the highway. It would be easier just to do 495... lol ...
Captain H we take Rt.111 all the way over there.
Send me your tele # to robandlyn@yahoo.com and let me know a good time to call.
Cheri if your in Sturbrige Mass why would you go all the way up to Orange,Ma before going to the Quabbin ?
John if your comming up Rt.91 then why not take Rt.20 to the Mass pike then
East one exit to Ludlow and take Rt.21 towards the Quabbin ?
Rob ....
Hi guys, robandlyn, Rt.111 looks good . Years ago we took the kids to Bensons animal farm I think was up that way . Work # Lena's Seafood 978-4658572 best time would be between 10' & 11' am , but you can call anytime, I am in & out all day & night . I may be coming solo, it's hard for both of us to get away on a Sat . I know, yous would rather have my better half going, :wtg: but, your stuck with me , lol :woohoo:
John , if I get to go , you are welcome to hop on & try to tame my Stallion,
this is something I have not been able to do , I just hop on & let him run wild, and I get to enjoy every second of it , lol :pepper: :pepper:
Hope to meet everyone , Thanks-----Captain H.

this is cool--- BikerBozo-- I made reservations at the Hampton in sturbridge for Friday night and Benninton VT for Saturday night-- figured I would just keep heading west on Rt 2 after the ride. I am a fan of the ferries off the island-- I go to maine often and take the Orient Point Ferry. Let me know on which PJ ferry you are thinking about as we get closer-- we can IM on this---
Not around this week, off to Dallas to the 110 degree weather--- I'm melting, melting, oh what a world - what a world....

Spyder, I just booked the room at Hamptons Inn in Sturbridge for Friday. I'll wing it for Sat. I plan on the 12:00pm ferry (if I get my wife out of house close to on time for once). I usually get there at least 1/2 hr. ahead.
SpiritDream, what time do you want to meet up Sat. morning?
My cell# 631-236-6552. Or any who PM get it sent directly to my phone anyways. I tend to work in loud environments (Trenton, NJ this week. Always a favorite place, not!).

Awesome, Big Dog!! When you come out of the campground, I believe you'll go right (so that 84 is parallel on your left), and follow the road a couple miles to the end. Take a left at that light, and the Hampton Inn (where Bikerbozo and GWSpyder are staying) will be about 1/2 mile down on your right.

Might be getting together for dinner Friday night, so let me know when you plan to hit the area! I'm planning to have breakfast before we meet up with everyone, and I know Bikerbozo is planning on breakfast at his hotel.

Damn, there's gonna be a lot of us this year!! :wtg:

I see where Rob, & also John asked who & where people will be coming from and to start signing in. It's around 407 miles from Western N.Y. so at this time I plan on leaving here Friday morning (8/26) nytriker (Greg) is also planning on heading East with me. If anyone else from Western N.Y. or Erie,Pa. wants to head that way, chime in so we know who's going. we'll be coming from the west so we'll probably get a Motel around Amherst or Pelham,Ma. or if anyone can suggest a place for Friday night. Then after we all meet up Saturday we'll just start heading back to Buffalo way. I do believe from looking @ the list that we'll have a fine selection of different Trike mfgs. I know greg just had a lift kit installed on his 2011 Tri-Glide & is very pleased with it. This past saturday went to see Bubba Blackwell do his show, quite impressive watching him do wheelies & jumps with his Harleys, looking forward to seeing you all on the 27th......tis (Dave)

Tis, I could be wrong, but I think those areas will be swarming with back-to-college students around then. Why not do like Bikerbozo & GWSpyder, and start out around the Sturbridge area - it's only 35-40 miles from Amherst, and the ride is all westbound from here! We have Hampton Inn, Super 8, and Motel 6 all within a couple miles of each other and the Rt20/Sturbridge exit off of Rt84.

Ok, here's a list of who I've seen "confirmed" so far - this doesn't count co-riders, either! :pepper: I'm still waiting for confirmation from Jonesy and Wally, so we may be two more than this list!!! :woohoo:

Trying to consolidate all the posts.....

When - Saturday, August 27, 10am-12ish
Where - The Tower parking area at the Quabbin Reservoir
What - Meet & greet, raffles, followed by a ride along the Mohawk Trail, and lunch somewhere along the way/at the end.

Prize for further travelled goes to Big Dog!!

I do agree with Frang - the restaurant at the hairpin is not the best choice considering the number of bikes/trikes we have. I would suggest the restaurant in Charlemont that Frang mentioned, or someplace past the turn. Just my two cents....

We have not up dated the list . I see a lot of new names on the post and in my PM

We will be joining this rally. Booked a room at the Quality Inn on Main St.,
Sturbridge. Would like to hook up with folks at the Hampton Inn on Friday night/Saturday morning, if possible. Thanks!!

OK, one more time for everyone. I'll skip the PM's. I expect to arrive at Hampton Inn by 3-4pm Friday. My cell# 631-236-6552. Direct e-mail is bozobiker@yahoo.com (and yes that is reversed from my Bikerbozo name). That e-mail goes right to my phone also.
Looks like it will be a blast.

I'll be at the tower around 1030 ish, as far as riding up to mohawk trail I'm not sure. Not sure on wife, doctor says no riding cause of neck operation. later

TIS and others These are the directions we used last year and everyone showed up . It is a long ride along the RES road , you will think you might be lost but you will get there.
directions:
LOL ... You CAN'T miss it .....
If your comming from Rt.202 & Rt.9 intersection all you have to look for
is the Mass State Police barracks BUT do not go in that way. That way
goes directly to the Dam that is now FORBIDDEN to cross. The entrance you
want is the next one on the Left .
The second entrance the one closest to WARE , MASS
:Excited:

I think catching dinner on Friday is a great idea-- there are probably plenty of places to eat in that City. I guess we should float Cel numbers in PMs --
Is this a 'rain or shine' ride, or do most people back out if it rains?? Not sure what I will do if the forcast is for a rainy weekend--

RAIN or shine . I got SAT off so that is the only day I can go. We discussed this .People riding great distance will not be able to change plans . Cheri are you planning on making name tags?

GW - Picadilly Pub, Applebees, Chicago Grill.....Chinese, Thai, "traditional" New England....McD, Burger King, Dunkin Donuts....... :Eating2

John - Yes, I'll do tags. I'll use the names from the posts, and bring "write in" tags for any additionals. :) Do you still want me to bring raffle tickets, or are you going to do the "name/number in a hat" like last year?

Rain - In the event of a rain forecast, Road Dog has generously offered to have us over to his place for a social/cook-out/whatever in lieu of riding, if that's what people prefer. :)

Name # in a hat works for me . We are not selling them I don't even know what we have to raffle <LOL> I have some 1500 GW chrome stuff. The trophies are done . We may need some kind of ballot for voting . "Peoples choice". R We counting Furthest on a Bike ,or any mode of transportation count? I wish we could get generic stuff like DQ free stuff at any DQ or free Mc Donalds hamburg good at any Mc Donalds . I got to check and see if I can get Lowe's hats . might not be allowed. I think we have more than are on the list . Could be catching Maggie Valley in a year or 2<LOL> watch out NANA;)

I have a few "generic" gift cards for various places for the raffle - 3 or 4, I believe. At this rate, we're more of a North East rally than a New England rally - which is a really good thing! :D

John, Cheri and all:
I responded to John's email, but to let you know regretably you will have to put a question mark next to my name for the rally on 27th. I spent last Sat. 13th in the emergency room of Danbury Hospital, and I am having a procedure (medical term for an operation) tomorrow Fri. 19th. If all goes well and I am strong enough, I will try to meet you.
I was looking forward to seeing all of you and putting faces with names. If I cannot make the trip it will surely be my loss, will let you know how things are going.
Tom

GOOD LUCK TOM ??? Just checked the 10 day weather next weekend says 78 DEGREES 0 percent chance of rain. Any luck it will hold out after all the rain we have had lately ??????????????????????:pepper::pepper::pepper:
