TT NE Rally II planning

How about meet up at the same place (the reservoir) about 10am - it had a nice big area to gather. Then we could start out on the same road but instead of stopping for an early lunch we can hop on Rt 2 and head west. It's a nice ride, goes through the Savoy State Park out near Adams, MA. If I'm not mistaken, there's a restaurant at the hairpin turn in N Adams where we could "end up" for lunch.

Only problem I have with the reservoir is no one see us . It would be great if we could be seen as a group. I guess that would happen at the Hair pin . I think it is a Restaurant . I know it is an INN

Do we have a head count ? Last I knew we had 14
Let's start a list.

I can check it out - I'm riding that area this weekend. I'm not sure what you mean by we can't be seen - do you meant as we're gathering? Solution to that is to gather at the entrance to the park instead of the at the tower. Or maybe we could just gather at that restaurant/ice cream shop where we had lunch last year - gas stations & Rt 2 are right there anyway, and LOTS of bike traffic going by!!

Not even a clue where you all are talking about meeting. I need specifics since I am coming from Long Island (might head up night before to wherever area since wife is NOT an early bird.

Just looked at a map. I will go out on a limb and guess everyone is looking at Montague area. It's the only place on map that looks like there is a reservoir.

CENTER of MASS is the Quabbin RES. at the south end is the town of WARE. That is the entrance to the tower.
Cheri if the weather holds out we may be up your way on Sunday ( area of Rt 2)

I vote we eat there . I see about 14 things I like on the menu
Buggi are the trikes gona be ready?
We still need a head count . I am sending out n E-mail tomorrow or later today.

Another good place to eat is the Mohawk park- in Charlemont. Lots of bikers stop there. The Golden Eagle is a little shy on parking.I'm from No.Adams and can see it from my house.

Just got back from Boston today, Daughter-in-Law doing fine. Only concern I would have for people coming a distance, they would probably leave on a Friday and get in that night, & if it rains Saturday, none of the local people would show up, they would wait for the rain date. So, everyone that traveled 8to 10 hours would be there by themselves. What's everyones feeling on thjis......

If your going to let the weatherman decide your rides your going to miss out, we've never let rain keep us from a ride. Point I was trying to get accross is some folks would be there Friday night, & if someone saw a bad weather report, ( like you suggest) they would wait till raindate, and we would have two groups.....

OK no rain date SAT is it . I will start praying now .
we had 7 trikes and 2 bikes last year i would love to see 10 tikes this year. we can do it.

Great to see you guys planning this 2nd annual gathering! and I'm looking forward to seen the group picture from this one too.

Bikerbozo.....Staying in Chicopee will mean you'll have to ride about 30 miles east to meet up with us, then we head west, assuming we stick to the current posted plan(s). If you want to adjust that to staying in Sturbridge on Friday (35 miles east of Chicopee), then you could ride to the meeting place with me Saturday morning, then stop at Chicopee on the way back if that's easiest for you to leave from.

Tis.....GREAT news about your daughter in law!! Rain hasn't kept us from the breakfast gathering at Americade, so it shouldn't stop us from this. BUT, I for one don't really want to "plan" to ride in downpours, either!! ;) I'm sure we'll all look at the weather reports the day before and decide, and I believe John has everyone's phone numbers to notify everyone if there IS a cancellation for weather.

Frang....Where exactly is that restaurant? I may take a ride to check it out myself! I ride out to Charlemont for the powwows at Indian Plaza whenever I can, so this will give me another place to ride to - and someplace new for lunch, too!

The Mohawk Park is west of the village of Charlemont maybe 3 or 5 miles on Rt 2.It's on the right heading west just after you cross the bridge over the Deerfield river. There's the restaurant and a camp ground there.Pretty big area so you can't miss it

Hi guys, please keep me posted on whats going on for this years TT NE RALLY . I will TRY to make it , if possable .
Some year if yous want to have it on the seacoast , I would like to help out with it . A ride around Salisbury Beach , then over to Hampton Beach & Rye N.H.is nice. Meeting place could be where i work , not real big, but does have picknick tables, mini-golf, batting cagers, go-carts, seafood restaurant, fryed dough & ice cream trailer. ok, keep me posted, thanks, Captain H.

Spiritdream, sounds like a plan . I see a Hampton Inn at 328 Main St., Sturbridge, MA that I will eventually book for the Friday night 8/26. I've stayed in that town before. It's about the same distance for me (96 miles from ferry). I'll wait until beginning of August to book.I might just take the day off and get up there in afternoon.

Honey is up for the ride . We did a 90 mile ride today no problem except it was hotter than the ba jesus <LOL> "THIS IS A REAL GO THEN" date IS SET IN STONE. LOCATION IS WHERE ? I will try to get Maryann back on line for the ride. I know a few more trikes down here but they are party poopers. Really hope Captian H comes I want a ride in that buggy of his . I have not heard from DanceJim or is it Jimdancer <LOL> he has a Stallion also. If Buggie Pilot(Pete ) comes we will have a real good mix, sounds like we may have a new venue or NETT Rally 3.. Sounds good to me for next year. I need a good head count by Friday if I can . Going to put in for SAT the 27th DAY off. WOOOOO can't wait.

PS Pete u got the VW trike up and running yet? call me

So have we decided on the meeting place? So have we got a time posted. I may have a little glitch. Honey has to do a dialysis trans. around noon. We are trying to work it out now. If we did it early, we still can't make it there before 1:30. We must do it home ..No place to do it once we get there.

Hi All !
Sorry I haven't been posting much.
Been some what VERY busy at work and home projects.
Lynn & I have still been riding when it hasn't been raining ... LOL ...
Lynn (I now call her Eagle Lover) has been watching eagle's nesting
online and has now wanted to go places to watch them fly.
We have been out to Western Ma quite a few times so far this year.
Couple of times to the Quabbin and this past Friday out to Mount Holyoke.
We went to Mount Sugarloaf (near Deerfield, MA) a few times last year.
I want to take her out to Mt. Graylock next ;-)
I know of that resturant (Golden Eagle) because 3 years ago before Lynn
got her Trike (she had a 07 Street Glide) we used their parking lot to stop
and enjoy the view from that HAIRPIN turn. Besides Lynn would have had
trouble making it anyway so it was a good thing to stop. We were trying
to make it to NY via Rt.2 along the Taconic Trail to Rt.22 then back to
Bennington,Vt then Rt.9 back to NH then home. Ended up turning around
at the NY state line on Rt. 2 because of HUGE thunderstorms approaching.
We should be able to make it in August and looking forward to seeing you all.
Unfortunatly we would not be able to go to that resturant after going to the
Quabbin. We have to be home by 6pm to feed & take care of our animals.
What is the matter with that same resturant we ate at last time ?
I thought their food was very good ?
If you want some other places to eat near-by I can ask some new riding friends
(2 wheel) we met last year that ride/live in that area for some other alteratives.
You know something ...
Now that you are talking about it ... I'm gonna ask them anyway .... LOL ...
Just so we can try them when we are out there ;-)
Rob .....

Looks like a good date for me. Bikerbozo, I will be coming from LI as well. I grew up in Western Mass. but a little further west than where people are talking about starting-- I grew up closer to the Hairpin Turn on Rt 2-- actually was just up there 2 weekends aho (car-boohoo) -
John- Karen and I will be there- think we will be on the Trike and not the Spyder

I think we should all park in front of the sign that say welcome to Florida ( people that know the area will get the joke )....We need a starting point. I am getting a great response . We have 11 trikes and 1 bike (total 17 people so far I also think that the hair pin is going to be a long ride . Not bad for me as it leaves me off closer to home. I need to be home by 9:00pm . So let's care the meeting in Stone . Where is it we meet at noon? I got to send people an address. Ron if you think of a place let us know . the Qubbin parking lot is good I guess. It worked and we were not bothered by anyone . If someone can get GPS info LAT Long # would be great . or directions .

If your thinking of parking in front of the welcome to Florida sign then your not far from the hairpin turn.I don't think i'd want to ride out to the Quabbin and then ride back here again.Might think of meeting at the lunch break though where ever that will be.
Also the time to park in front of that sign is around January when there is 10 ft of snow.
