pulled in to my local WAWA yesterday and parked on a slight incline, so I left the trike in gear and applied the parking brake . When I came out and tried to start it even though I had my foot on the brake it wouldn't start until I released the parking brake . Guess I'm going to have to read my owners manual.

Parking brake should have no effect on starting. I start my 2014 in neutral with the parking brake applied all the time.

Starting IN GEAR requires both brake and clutch simultaneous application.

If that does not work .... check to see if cruise control works.
If cruise control also does not work .... the culprit is usually a faulty switch at the clutch lever.

Push harder on the brake pedal, and pull the clutch ALL the way in, it should start
You may have a bad switch JMO Have you changed your hand grips?

The trike starts in gear all the time with no problem with my foot on the brake pedal and the clutch pulled in. But this time I also had the parking brake on so I figure there must be some type of override on the parking brake, because when I released the parking brake the trike started just fine, can't figure out why the MOCO would set it up this way.

Casper, after reading your post, brought trike to Harley and they did some adjusting and all is well. They said that having the parking brake on was just a fluke and had nothing to do with starting.
