Trike Talk / TOI Mid America Gathering

When and What

Can someone nail down the dates..... Better yet, is there even a rough idea of the events schedule? Some of us can not commit to a full week there, so it sure would be helpful to get a hint of timing...

Yes, I know it is several months off and we could make reservations for the entire time then change later but that might very well prevent other members from getting rooms at the host motel on days they could have planned and attended the gathering.

How about it organizers..... :xszpv::xszpv:

by all means you'll all come on down. this TexasGuy will have rooms for all of you'll in Lufkin right on hwy 59. and if the dates are delayed no problems he has it covered

Hey Jr. What is your travel schedule? I'm sure I am coming up to the gathering but don't know if it will be at the very first or later in the week. I'm also not positive when I'll head back to San Angelo. A lot will depend on what Tom and gang comes up with for events. I'm going to make reservations for the entire time for now then see how things go. If timing works out I'd love to tag along with y'all. :xszpv: :xszpv:

Gold Rush, I can't speak for Jr but it's OK with me if you go up with us. Only thing is, looking at the map it looks like it would be about 150 miles extra for you. That's if you meet us in Longview. Right now our plan is to leave on the 18th, spend the night somewhere (knowing Jr it will be under a 5-star bridge somewhere) and arrive in Osage Beach the afternoon or evening of the 19th.

On second thought, don't worry about Jr. He seems to approve of anything and everything.

Thank You. I know Jr. is pretty easy going so I'm hoping he doesn't hold not getting the apple PIE and Ice Cream against me that long!! :cxtv: :cxtv:

Do you have a route already in mind. I was thinking of riding over to the Tyler/Longview area the 17th so I wouldn't have to get up at midnight to meet up with y'all. It's actually 390 miles from here to Longview so I'll get an extra full day of travel time each way. Not a problem and it will give me time to rest up a bit. :xszpv::xszpv:

my thoughts are take hwy 59 north to Texarkana, interstate 30 to little Rock. ark. north on hwy 65, interstate 44, north on hwy 5, hwy 54 to Osage Beach. I am not fond of interstate but it will save some time.
PS this is from Lufkin, tex.

Thanks Jr. I was thinking along those same lines. We'll talk some between now and then... :xszpv: :xszpv:

This looks like it could be a great trip. Have mentioned to Pat and she was interested so we may go ahead and book a room. Would like to ride up with some of the other group. Meeting in Longview would be a good place for us. The route Jr. mentioned seems like the way to go for A to B riding.

My plan is to meet Jr somewhere in Lufkin the morning of the 18th then go from there to Longview to meet Jerry. You are only about 36 miles from me and need to pass pretty close to me going up that way. Maybe we could meet in Navasota and travel together. Would have to be pretty early, as it is about 2 hours from there to Lufkin.

That would work. Sounds like it would be a good plan and Navasota would be a good meeting place. Just went through there today going to and from Yankee's Tavern in Carlos.

Have not been to Yankee's Tavern in 2 or 3 years. I'll bet it hasn't changed one bit.

We'll get the plan firmed up as time gets closer. We may also have a couple of folks coming with us from Austin and/or San Antonio, plus I think Jerry (Gold Rush) is going to join us in Longview. Sure hope Jr has enough barbecue for all of us. :Coffee:

Been going to Yankee's since before he opened. We used to have a weekend place in Somerville and rode with a group of riders up there and we helped him get the place ready to open. He also owns a bar in Snook called the Watering Hole.

Breakfast

Breakfast what is that ? just let me know what time you are getting here. might find a cold biscuit around 7am. need to be in Marshall by 9:00am. might get a biscuit there. LoL

Jan and I are thinking of meeting you guys and gals in Little Rock. There is a Days Inn on 65, just north of Little Rock. We need to make it a 2 day ride there if possible. That will make both days about the same riding time, I think. Not sure on the route yet, but will be I-35/I-40 and up or US79 and up (79 being the longer road time route). Will have to figure all that out in the next few months and see who might, or might not be, riding along with us from here.

I had planned on attending this, but................

I will be heading to Idaho instead. Our youngest is expecting and the due date is June 10. So we will be heading there to welcome in a new Grandchild! :)

Sue and I are planning to go, made reservations for June 19 for 5 nights.

If if you guys don't mind we would like to ride along with you. Navasota is a half hour away, or we could meet you in Lufkin. Kerrville was good, a longer trip sounds even better.

That sounds GREAT Tom!!!! Having you and Sue along will be a hoot! :pepper::Coffee:

I'm sure Stan will be getting hold of you soon to do some coordinating... Right now I'm still planning on coming along also. Have reservations and marked my calendar. I can't see a single reason not to go but one never knows....

Looking forward to this trip for sure!!!! :xszpv::xszpv:

I'm left out

Sounds like it would be as much meeting y'all in Texas as waiting regular gathering. If wasn't 400 miles in the direction I would meet up with you. But if I did we may not even get there. I wish I lived in Texas.
