Well, drove to Keene yesterday and picked up my trike (again). Still not finished. No wiring for the trailer hitch, no fender tips, control for fuel sending unit still zip tied to my GPS cable (I'll mount it to my gas tank tomorrow), Fuel sending unit moving fuel to main tank without being turned on, no LED light bar on my trunk and no trike cover.
They did find a bad bearing in the front end which they replaced and also put on a new front tire for my trip which is coming up in less then 48hrs.
I soooo, can't wait to get him to "finish" my trike. As soon as he does, I'm finding someone else to deal with.
The funny thing is, this guy wants me to "be fair" when I talk about him and the product he gave me..........I guess to be fair to him, silence (from me) will be golden.
In all my years I have never had an experience as unpleasant as this has been.

I had a similar experience years ago with a dealer that does handicap vehicle conversions here in NH.
After years of returning to them, & never being totally satisfied with the way they resolved the myriad of mechanical issues my vehicle experienced, I finally gave up & sold the vehicle.
I will never grace the business with my presence or money ever again.
Unfortunately they are somewhat of a monopoly in the state, and travelling out of state sux, but I get the personal satisfaction of not supporting that particular business.

As Jonesy stated above, if you don't call the offending party out, others MAY be taken advantage of as well.
I'd wait until the "issues" with your trike are finished, and if you're still not happy with their service, fill us in on who they are.
Good luck in your dealings with this one, & your upcoming road trip...

What's the story? Is this trike being built from scratch or is it a kit like most others? I'm not sure I understand.

Come Monday I would be on the phone to the trike company to make sure they understand your side of the story. Because Ill bet hes blowing smoke to them on the status of your trike and they need to know how bad it really is.

Trust me, they already know and have made contact with him on numerous occasions...

Whatever business they decide to conduct with him in the future is their decision and I'm sure from my communications with them, he may not be thrilled. One thing I do know, is that as soon as I can clear myself from this shop...they will never see me again.

All I can say is that my mother must be looking down on me and helping me keep my cool.

You have a lot more patience than a lot of us would have. My hat is off to you. And Im sure your Mom is giving you a little help also. We're keeping our fingers crossed for you.

Your patience with this place is to be commended. I would have long ago gone off on this guy. I can't suffer incompetence. Hope you finally get everything taken care of. And like others have stated above, I think you should put this shop out there so others won't have the same experience you have had.

To my way of thinking, you are paying this man good money to provide a product the way you want it. After this many weeks, I'd call down the Thunder on this guy. You have been nice enough. Time to get tougher. I probably would ask for some of my money back for the inconvenience. I certainly would be calling him and the trike company every day to le them know how agitated I am.

These clowns need to man up and deliver your product. Once you get the bike and have the bugs out of it. Out them to the board.

I have already informed him that he will not receive final payment until I have a completely finished trike AND that he better think long and hard before presenting me with the final bill. I also told him that at this point (that was 3 weeks ago) I expect no less then 10% off the final bill. Right now I'm thinking 1% per week that is it late. Right now we are starting week 16. Of course his argument will be that he gave me the trike to use while he was waiting for parts....I will need to remind him that every part that he "was waiting for" was listed on the original order/contract which we created in Oct 2014..
I will continue to remain calm when dealing with this man and I will let Karma visit him when the time is right!!
After all, if he doesn't complete my trike, I have extra $$ in the bank..works for me!! Plus everything he needs to do to finish, I can do myself or with the help of a friends so I may just tell him to forget it all.

Dennis:

Please consider letting the installer know that final payment will not be made until the trike is completely finished "and you are 100% completely satisfied with the final conversion including having the conversion checked over by a reputable installer recommended by the manufacture." Set aside a sum of money from the final payment for the labor warranty period. At the end of the warranty period any unused portions may be reimbursed to the installer.

Send detailed written notifications via email, fax or regular mail to the installer daily and keep copies for yourself.

Any news on this?

Well, I'm riding it but it's still not finished. Dealer is not trying to contact me so I'm just going to ride, ride, ride. If and when he finally decides to finish it, I will pay him..... until then, the $$$$ stays in MY bank account so no worries here!!

I know youve had quite a few issues with this so called gentleman, but be careful he doesnt try to put a mechanics lien on the trike. Theoretically he shouldnt be able too but considering he hasnt been upfront with much of anything I would watch your six on this. And I would keep on Hannigan so they can see how not satisfied you still are about their dealers year long install with your trike.

I do a lot of work on trikes and bikes and I am slow but it is due to my disabilities.
I do tell em up front and give them a day that I will be finished. I never go past my quoted time.
Keep up with the manufacturer so they will know his reputation.
I hope I never have to deal with him myself. I'm not that patient.
I applaud you for your patience.

As I have stated prior........doesn't do my health any good to get to yelling and screaming... I prefer to kill him with kindness. Trust me I don't know how I do it...it's something new to me.

Every bit if this has been documented by myself, the manufacturer and I'm sure the builder. Not only do I do ALL communication via email or txt (so I have a record), if and when I speak to him face to face, I have someone there to witness the exchange.

He knows what he has left to finish and he has made no effort to contact me. The ball is in his court. I'm not worried about him trying to put a lien on my trike since he has my RSTD sitting on his showroom floor as a deposit (very healthy deposit).

I'm sure once riding season slows down he will be in contact. If he wants his $$ he will get on the ball and do what he needs to do.

I'm not worrying about it. I appreciate all the support you are giving but just sit back and wait for this to play out, that is what I'm doing. It may take a full year, but it will be done and done right. Remember, Karma is a Bitch!!!!

Several folks have asked who is messing this up so bad. I have not and will not give the name of the shop on a public forum (some of you know who it is). I'm sure that his day will come and he will reap what he deserves...ie Karma....
