Anyone know of any motorcycle cruise ships that take trikes? I always thought those cruises looked interesting but they all seem to ban trikes.
I am most interested in looking on East coast.
And no, I am not talking about ferry between CT and Long Island. I'm thinking a more tropical island. :Joker3:
:banghead: :Computer:

I agree. I have seen many cruses in the Carribean asking for two-wheelers, but they all stipulate NO TRIKES. I have talked with the cruise lines and they say that its because the trikes take up extra room and they don't have a proper ti-down for trikes.

Maybe if we could get a bunch of trikes we could interest them.

Count me in! The cruise that i have seen all have a GWRRA membership on the islands and they arrange a police escort around the whole island because they have over 25 bikes! Great way to know that you are seeing everything from a biker's view!

Good news for all. I also sent an e-mail to one of the bigger cruise companies and they replied that they are working on trikes right now. The following is their reply to me which also has their company name and web address:

"Andrew,
Yes we hope to very soon in be able to accomendate your request. I will keep your inquiry close by. Thank you for letting us know. We look forward to letting guest know in the near future."

Blondiegal, we only ride around the deck if we find a big enough freight elevator. Otherwise we just disembark at different islands and ride around them. it actually looks pretty cool.

I am talking to a couple of cruise companies about getting a cruse together for trikers. I will let you know what I find out.

Don't want to be a party pooper. but, most of the places I've been or seen, I wouldn't want to drive, let alone leave it unattended on most of the islands !!!! Be terrible to return from a cruise and have to walk home !!

I've got a couple of friends that go on a bike cruise every year and it sounds like a lot of fun. Ive been talking with the same company a couple of mentioned and it sounds like they will be good to work with on a group cruise. If we have enough interest we can even have our own TrikeTalk/TOI cruise and get a good rate too! I didnt want to throw company names out there yet as I think we will get the best deal if we all book as a group rather than individually.

If we did this, who would be interested and what sort of time frame?

I'm pretty much open any time but end of June or Thanksgiving week for this year. As long as I have enough time to let work know. If it leaves in Southeast I can fly my wife down and ride myself. If it leaves in Northeast I can just ride direct with her.
My looking for a cruise this year is to celebrate my 50th birthday in mid-year. I expect everyone to stay up all night doing shots. Yes, I realize for some of you that means double doses of Geritol! :D

driving on left side just takes a little more concentration. On St. Croix they drive on left side with left side steering. very annoying. I find leaving the radio off gives me that extra edge of concentration.

Depending on depearture point/time, I could possibly be persuaded! ;) Heck, I may join in even without the trike! LOL

I am interested assuming that we can get a port that is in the SE. I'm not interested in a 1000 mile ride to go on a cruise. Most cruises are in the Carribean. Most depart from Fla.

Actually, a number of cruises leave from NJ. Including some M/C cruises.Leaving fron NJ probably makes the islands look that much better.

Hello to All! So thee are no rumors and no one telling you anything wrong, please allow me to give you the facts on anything for bikes/trikes on a cruise ship. There is only 1 company that handles these types of cruises. They are fully licensed and endorsed and having been operating these cruise for 10 years now. In fact.... they just announced that TRIKES ARE NOW PERMITTED ABOARD THE EXPLORER OF THE SEAS! I know we can't post travel company's here, but just search for motorcycle cruises and there's only one that will pop up! They do individual bike/trike bookings as well as groups. I hope this gives you the info you were looking for. How do I know.... cause I am the President of the company that allows guests to bring their own bikes/trikes on a cruise and ride off on the islands in the Caribbean & Bermuda!

About the roads and what side we ride on?? The roads are just like the roads back home. There are potholes there, too! I know first hand that the majority of roads we ride have been redone in the last year. Roads are safe else we wouldn't be doing it. With our full escorts, it doesn't matter what side of the road you're on.... our road captains and escorts are always there for ya.
The company that puts these on also handles all insurances, bike registrations, permits and licenses for every bike/trike operator. Fuel is always at least 93 octane and we have never had any problems with bad fuel. We have used the same places for 10 years now and rely on them to always be there for us. It's a blast!! :wave4: ThumbUp
