Triglide seat

I have just purchased a used 2012 triglide ultra. I am a big man but only 5'9 tall. When sitting in the stock seat I feel like I am sitting straddle of the tank and do feel it in the well you no what's. Thinking about a different seat such as the road zeppelin. Would this seat eliminate this problem?

The RZ is a much wider seat than stock, but when you pump up the air bladder at the back, it tends to push you up and forward a bit. so I don't think you'd like that. You might like it with no air in it, but that defeats the purpose of it.

Best bet would be to check out your local HD dealer and see if they have any demo seats you could try out.

Agree 100%. went with a Corbon, brought me back a little and up a little.:D

I don't see why it wouldn't. MOCO did not change the frame, just components.

As far as HD seats, MOCO does make a Ultra Seat for tall people. Part Number 52099-09A.

Replaced mine with the Mustang Super touring. Sits me back a few inches and down slightly. It worked for me. Also I purchased the heated version to keep the nads all toasy and warm. :D

The RZ seat will sit you a little more closer to the front whether it's inflated or deflated, which I like, but wouldn't be comfy for you. I have short arms so a seat 2 inches farther back and I wouldn't be able to reach the grips. What's your arms reach like?

When I asked if my RZ seat (2012)would fit the 2014's, the dealer said there would be a bigger gap between the seat and the backrest due to the tourpac being relocated farther back for more passenger room. Supposidly the mounting hole is still in the same place. I'd think the seat on a 2014 would be real tight on an older bike - cushion wise.

Another option would be to talk to Russell Cycle Products. They will make a custom fit seat that you can ride on all day. Their design also accounts for folks who need (yours truly incl) extra support. They also consider your entire riding position and require you to send photos and a detailed set of measurements. I drove in and had mine made same day. Also got a tour and saw how they use the photo and measurement sheet to size and design the seat foam. One size DOES NOT fit all!

As long as you are going to look at HD seats try a Tallboy seat. I put one on mine and it moves you back off of the tank. According to HD catalog it will move you back approx. 2".

HogAir, the Tallboy seat sets the rider back about 2". Does this also mean the passenger is minus 2" of room?
My Wife is mid sz ............ You welcome Honey!

If you look at the standard seat, the the rear of the riders seat pushes you forward to the tank. The Tall Boy seat cuts out that portion of the seat and tapers more toward the passengers seat to allow me to move back. I really don't think my wife has moved at all with it. Works for us...

Over the years I have had a few seats re-worked to fit me better, including a couple by Mean City.

What I discovered a few years ago is that it is really easy to rework them in most any home garage, and the big benefit is that you can shape it to your exact desired shape.

Just remove the staples holding the cover to the seat pan.

Keep the plastic barrier that is between the vinyl and the foam.

Use a knife to do the big cutting in the foam, and then a drill with a disk sander to get it exactly how you want.

As you are shaping it, put it on the bike and sit on it...note where you want to take more foam out...just do it a little at a time til you have it fitting you perfectly.

Also, if you need to add foam anywhere, a simple spray adhesive will hold the extra foam to the seat foam.

Once you have it right, then put the plastic barrier back on, then the vinyl and staple it back on. If you don't have an electric stapler, you can get them at Lowes or Home Depot for $30-$50.

Much less expensive, and you will have it exactly how you want it.
