Mine is a "16. No matter what part or accessory I look at in the catalog,it doesn't fit my bike. What gives?

I was told by the parts guy, while looking for a front fender rail,HD changed the dimensions of the fender. Can it be that much that a rail with rubber bumper won't fit? I don't like the air wing, which does fit.

......and why is the speaker trim so damn expensive?

OK,I feel better,thanks all.

Ha!!! When I was thinking about buying a TG it was the end of the '13 production, our dealership had 4 trikes on their showroom floor. I had seen a couple of '14's and liked the new look. Called a buddy of mine up in Wisc that owns a dealership. Talked for a few minutes then he said everything on your '12 Ultra will fit the '13 TG.... Nothing on the '12 will fit the '14. Figuring I had maybe $3,000-$4,000 worth of parts and accessories I took home the '13 and did some major swapping of parts and I mean major.

Most common cheap outdoor covers "don't fit" the '16 triglide according to their websites. We also discovered, after buying the flags and poles, that the "car window" style model poles that fit on the touring pack of previous triglide models don't fit the '16 as the light bar across the back is higher and the flag poles can't slide down into the tour pack. I'm sure there are other things too but that's all I've come across so far.

Some of the stuff the Motor Co does just makes you scratch your head, sometimes.

Not really ---- how do you think they sell more "stuff"?--- few simple improvement changes and nothing fits --- thus ya gotta buy more stuff---- going through that right now going from a 2011 to a 2014 --- oh well.

A bit of a follow up..
after really taking a look at the front fender and the front rail bumper, which I like, but Harley says don't fit.

It would appear the change is not in the fender, but in the light. If you compare the airwing rail with the bumper rail, you will notice that there are 2 holes vs 1 hole for attachment to the fender.

For the bumper rail, under the fender are 3 bolts,2 for the light and 1 for the rail. But for the airwing..only 2 bolts, which are for the light also. The center bolt is missing, but the hole in the fender is still there.

I think...maybe...remove lens cover, drill hole to match hole in fender, insert bolt, attach bumper rail.Or...replace light with older style with 3 bolts.

what say ye?

Devils advocate....alert..

Hey if i sold Widgets and every two years come out with new Widgets, I would make sure parts from the older Widgets won't fit the new Widgets.
This way can i make extra money selling new Widgets parts. Like it or not....
It does seem like a good business plan to me...

yes rhino that makes sense ,from a business standpoint. The fender light is considerably smaller and of a different design.

BTW...what's an eleven tango?

never mind...I got it. 11T/G..that is.Thought it might have been a new mos.

It is what it is!!!

This is why my old 09" and I are partners for life, way to much invested to give it all away for new machine. each to their own enjoy the new rides. ThumbUp please ride safely Fred

And ..........................

New engine on the '17 requires new style high flow. I'm sure there is other stuff too. At least the rest of it is the same except for a few new colors.

Took the fender light off yesterday,I stand corrected....they made a change to the fender. Now I may have to buy something I don't like......unless....I change the bracket on the rail/bumper.

I did notice that if the light should stop working,it seems that the whole thing will have to be replaced, not just a bulb change.

:gah:
