Tri Glide Running Boards

I called my dealer and ordered the running boards. The dealer calls me back to tell me they are another 260 bucks on top of the 1298 because of the color of my bike.
As far as I am concerned that is misleading for Lehman to state 998 for unpainted and 1298 for painted. There is no mention of additiional cost for certain paint colors.

Our apologies, "starting at MSRP $1298 including paint" was not intended to be misleading but I can see your point and we'll change it.

Flat rate paint rates usually work well, but in this case that Red Sunglo is EXPENSIVE material. Also, there were slight variations in the motorcycle paint over the production year but we keep track of that information - so with this color a VIN number is required with the order to ensure the best color match.

Thanks all, we're proud supporters of the trike community and this is a great forum!

Thank you for addressing my concerns. I was shocked to find out the additional cost over the other color versions. I have placed my order and hope my dealer has them soon.

:woohoo:Too bad Lehman can't give a military discount. Oh well, I can't wait for my dealer to call me and tell me they are in.

I just got the Call my running boards are at the dealer. I will be picking mine up on Saturday..Ya--HOO

Hope you get your boards on before June. Mine will be installed within the next month by myself. I am currently installing the new Legend suspension air shocks on mine then to the next project.

There is a article in Aprils American Bagger Magazine on the Hawg EFX boards. Plus better pictures of the installation of the boards.

Got the boards on, they look awesome and can support 250 lbs. I don't weigh that much....and neither does my copilot!

They don't have the running boards for the 2011 Tri-Glide at this time, according to Gainesville Florida Harley -Davidson Dealer. I will have to wait. I have seen them on the 2010 and they look sweet.

Went to pick up the Running Boards, had someone standing by to install them for me, got the package home and NO HARDWARE in the package, what a disappointment, now the dealer has to contact Lehman and hopefully they will send it right away for the price I paid for Sunglo Red which was extra because it was harder to match the color??? Total cost was $1502 and I don't intend to pay extra for the hardware that wasn't shipped with the running boards!

Turns out the paint is more money not because its harder to match . I cannot believe it came with no hardware. Email Lehman Casey is a real nice guy or call him. I sure he will help you out quick.

Please accept our apology for the mistake, and though we don't know how this happened our customer service and warehouse did respond immediately and your missing parts were sent out that same-day. Feel free to contact us here at the factory if you have any questions at 888-3WHEELS. Thank-you for bringing this to our attention and we hope you enjoy your Tri Glide with the new EFX!

Also, it is true that the Red Hot Sunglo is more expensive - the upcharge just covers the additional cost of material.

I have one question on the running boards for the Tri-Glide. If you purchased the running boards at a later date then the Tri-Glide, and then you had some kind of a problem where they would have to work on the Trike under warranty. If they had to take off the Boards to work on the problem and reinstall them. Would they charge you labor for removing the boards and installing them? Reason I ask I seen a post somewhere on here where someone had those boards installed and a dealer took over 5 hours to remove and install them but only charged for 3 hours..... I'll try to locate the post.

Found it: It was posted by RWHGME under Harley Trikes, and the post was under "Triglide Running Boards Updates" it was posted on 3/12/2011 and the work was described as being done on the initial install of the boards. I just wanted to confirm that I seen it somewhere. They really do look sharp though......We'll admire them @ Maggie Valley!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a brief note to Lehman, thank you for making these for our Triglides. In a few short months I venture a guess that you have done well with them. People who see these say they finish off the look of the trike. The fit and finish are exemplary. Again, I thank you! Scott Mallin

Thank you so much for your quick response....................a great example of the customer service from Lehman's, they have always been a pleasure to do business with.............really appreciate your reply!
