Trap Door

My Wing Trike has trap doors under the left and right tail lights. The "deep" nut on the RT side is spinning.....like a lot of them do. Has anyone tried to get the trap doors open to change the tail lights. I saw a thread once saying that this can be done so you don't have to break out the lens to change a bulb.

The "trap doors" have a couple of little slots that a flat head screw driver might be used to pry them open, but I'd like to hear from anyone with some experience first before I try to get them off. They have a rubber gasket around the top and then the unit goes into a pipe down into the trunk bottom. It is all one piece and looks like it should come out with the right technique.

You could always drop the bottom of the upper trunk. Just remove the center trim pieces and then carefully pull the bottom of the trunk off. It snaps into the black trim. Theres a few mounting screws in the trunk that have to be removed but it doesnt take long to do ,especially if you dont have the LED lighted trim on your trunk.

I don't have a clue what your talking about when you say "trap doors"...
What I would do is find someone with a butterfly impact (air tool) and get that nut off with it.
